As a professional makeup artist , I recently I had the luck of working on an Amazon Blink Holiday commercial shoot. I created the hair and makeup looks for the talents during the 2 day shoot.

I was hired by Stept Studios for this commercial shoot. Stept is an award winning creative and production studio. Known for work that feels more like entertainment than advertising. They partner with brands, agencies, and platforms to create campaigns, commercials, and branded content with authenticity at its core. Their award-winning roster of directors represents the next generation of storytellers, working across commercial and documentary genres.

The commercial was directed by Adam Patch, a commercial and film director. We were filming at the Golden Oak Ranch. Located within the 30-Mile Zone, the Golden Oak Ranch is a movie ranch like no other.  Understanding that getting the most out of a shoot day is vital in today’s film, television and commercial industry, Disney and ABC Studios constructed two back lots on the Ranch—a Business District and a Suburban Street—so that part of the day could be filled staging an outdoor football scene in one of the many meadows, while the other part could be spent filming a crime scene in the alley at the Business District.

As a traveling hair and makeup artist , I recently I had the luck of working on the WebexOne 2023 AI conference event in Anaheim at the Marriott Convention Center. I created the hair and makeup looks for the speakers during this 3 day event.

About WebexOne: Webex by Cisco is an American company that develops and sells web conferencing, videoconferencing and contact center as a service applications. It was founded as WebEx in 1995 and taken over by Cisco Systems in 2007. Its headquarters are in San Jose, California.

I was hired by The Bella Agency. Irresistible Me Collaboration | Luxury Human Hair Wigs

This was the second time that I had a chance of collaborating with a luxury human hair wigs brand called Irresistible Me. As a Los Angeles celebrity hair stylist Irresistible Me wigs have been a huge part of my work, I love using their products on my clients. 

Follow these steps to apply the hair wigs: 

  1. Prep your hair. Put your hair up close to your scalp and cover it with the wig cap. The goal is to keep your locks as flat as possible. Ideally, use a mesh cap in a similar shade to the wig’s color.
  2. Secure the wig. Locate each securing/adjusting strap and try the wig on your head to find the best settings for your comfort.
  3. Install the wig. Bring the wig over your head and place it perfectly on your hairline. Fix it in place and secure it with the combs inside the wig cap, adjust accordingly. Finally, cut the lace and glue the wig to your hairline.
  4. Style it as you like. Irresistible Me human hair wigs have a pre-plucked hairline for a natural look and thanks to the front lace, you can part the hair however you like. Don’t forget to use hair protectant when you style your wig.

As a traveling hair and makeup artist , I mostly work on TV commercials,  branded videos, fashion shoots, events and photo shoots around the world. Recently I had the luck of working on the Travel By Design unique storytelling series.

As of June 30, 2020, there were 582 hotels and resorts with 205,053 rooms operating under the brand, in addition to 160 hotels with 47,765 rooms planned for development.

Designer Sherry Kobashigawa’s career began in set design, which explains her drive to encorporate storytelling into the elements of her creative process.

Kobashigawa joined the team at Le Méridien Salt Lake City Downtown after construction was already underway. Nevertheless, she got to work and designed the hotel, including Parisien and Mid-century influences that meet at the intersection of the story, the landscape and the building itself.

Inspired by the mountains and the setting of Salt Lake City, Kobashigawa drew upon the grid system the city was built on to inspire the art and textiles to bring it all together. “We wanted to tie in this notion of found items as well as the element of travel.” It was the spirit of the golden age of travel that brought the story to life in a way that helped everything fall into place.

Also I would recommend following these tips on how to take care of your hair extensions:

  1. Brush often. I recommend brushing your hair twice a day as a minimum. Brush your hair extensions in the morning and before bed every night to detangle anything you’ve built up during the day. It’s also a good idea to brush your hair if you feel it becoming tangled at any point during the day.
  2. Limit how often you wash your hair. My recommendation is to wash your hair twice a week when you have extensions.
  3. Hair products matter. Condition the ends with hair oil if needed and always use a heat protectant before styling.

When it comes to picking your career, it’s important to do something you love. If makeup is something you love and you want to pursue becoming a celebrity makeup artist but you don’t know where to begin, have no fear. I have all the tips and advice you need to help jumpstart your career in the beauty world. From doing your research to taking classes, being patient, and working hard every day – I pulled together a bunch of tips to help you start your career.

  1. Start with a cosmetology school, I did my education in Budapest, Hungary.
  2. Look for opportunities and build your portfolio, collaborate with photographers, directors, models.
  3. Keep learning, these days, there are a ton of ways to learn your craft. Whether it’s Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube, there are so many videos that are available online for free that can help you learn different skillsets.
  4. Stay Professional, it’s important to be accomodating, always ask permission and respect privacy.
  5. Build brand relationships, whether it be through social media or attending events, building brand relationships is essential when it comes to becoming a pro. There are different ways you can go about this and one way is by doing makeup tutorials using certain brands to gain exposure.
  6. Make connections on events and sets. The key to being a successful makeup artist is making the right connections along the way. Word of mouth recommendations are the key for most makeup artists in building their client lists. It is important to network with people in the industry.
