Top Makeup Artist in Los Angeles | Domyos Sport Print Campaign

Top Makeup Artist in Los Angeles | Domyos Sport Print Campaign

I was working recently on a Domyos print campaign. Luckily I have been told that I am viewed as one of the top makeup artists in Los Angeles, therefore I am often asked to take on challenging and interesting projects. We were shooting over one day in a Hollywood house and one day in Venice Beach. Domyos is a successful sports clothing brand, known for their sportswear focusing on Decathlons.

We were going for athletic-inspired beauty and sport style makeup looks during this photoshoot. The athletic minimalistic look is defined by bare-bones makeup with an emphasis on glowing skin and strong eyebrows. The hair is usually in a sleek ponytail or worn loose and wet-looking. During this sporty photo shoot, I had 8 models to take care of in terms of makeup and hair styling. I was going for minimal, fresh looks without a lot of coverage. “Fresh,” “sporty,” and “young” these were the keywords during this shoot.

As a top makeup artist in Los Angeles, I love to create minimal makeup looks. Bare-faced beauty is all about looking like you’re letting your natural skin shine through just a glowier, more even-toned version of your natural skin. To create these looks, one of my favorite types of make are moisturizers, primers, BB creams, mascara, eyeliner, lip balm, and blush.

Decathlon‘s main mission is to make sport accessible to as many people as possible. They would like to help, inspire and guide people through their sports experiences. We believe that being active and discovering new sports every day is an important part of a healthy lifestyle. Decathlon has 70 sport brands under one roof.

Personal Stylist and Makeup Artist in LA | Salvation Mountain Photoshoot

Personal Stylist and Makeup Artist in LA | Salvation Mountain Photoshoot

As a personal stylist and makeup artist in LA I was working with wedding, lifestyle and portrait photographer Radostina Boseva ( Joy ). Joy’s client, Viki  asked her to arrange a shoot for her 18th birthday. Viki then contacted me to take care of her personal wardrobe styling and hair-makeup during our one day photoshoot.

We were shooting on both film and digital, Joy stated: I love to shoot with both film (yeah, the old school film rolls) and digital. The images that you will see here are primarily shoot on film, because I love the colors and the dreamy look.

As a personal stylist and makeup artist in LA, I love to travel for work to beautiful places. For this photo shoot, our location was Salvation Mountain, Salvation Mountain is a hillside visionary environment created by local resident Leonard Knight in the California Desert area of Imperial County, north of Calipatria, northeast of Niland near Slab City, and several miles from the Salton Sea.

From Radostina Boseva about our shoot: One of the most interesting, challenging and fun photoshoots that I did last year, actually happened at the very end on December 30. I flew down to Los Angeles from San Francisco and together with the fantastic fashion stylist and makeup artist Luca Buzas we drove down all the way to Salvation Mountain for this colorful and fun birthday photoshoot. The entire session was photographed on film and I think only film could preserve all those beautiful colors in the California desert.

Hair And Makeup Artist Los Angeles | Luxury Villa Branded Video

Hair And Makeup Artist Los Angeles | Luxury Villa Branded Video

As a hair and makeup artist Los Angeles I was working on a branded video shoot for a luxury villa last year. The video was produced by the BLNK production company in Shanghai, China. We were starting our shoot in the bathroom where I was creating a very natural makeup look. Later at the day, our model was wearing a cocktail dress which is when I changed her look to smokey cat eyes and red lips.

Smoky eye or cat eye makeup looks are stunning on their own, however combining the 2 looks will create one pair of seriously smokin’ eyes. Recently we’ve been seeing more and more of this kind of eye makeup exposure on commercials, on the red carpet, fashion week, celebrity events, and on gals around the city. Smoky eyes and dark red lips can work perfectly together, our model looked stunning with this mix, combining the boldness of the classic red lip with the flirty vibe of smokey cat eyes.

The trick to getting red lips right is a great lip liner – this helps your lipstick last longer and allows you to achieve an excellent shape. The key to making red lips look sophisticated, and not messy, is careful application. ‘Red lipstick is a source of strength,’ says Poppy King, creator of Lipstick Queen. ‘You put it on and suddenly you feel more capable than you did without it.’ Debbie Harry asserted herself in the boys’. As a hair and makeup artist in Los Angeles directors, photographers, creatives often ask for this makeup look during shoots.

TV Commercial Makeup Artist in Los Angeles | Scotch Porter TVC

TV Commercial Makeup Artist in Los Angeles | Scotch Porter TVC

As a TV commercial makeup artist in Los Angeles, I was hired by HCI advertising last year for their Scotch Porter TV Commercial shoot. We had a night shoot in a butcher store in Hollywood. I had about 25 male actors/models to do makeup for. It was a very straightforward shoot because we were going for camera-ready looks.

Being camera-ready means the products and techniques used to achieve the overall look are compatible with high quality cameras that photographers and videographers use. That means you will be HD compatible and as technology advances, makeup products and techniques advance as well. When I work as a TV commercial makeup artist in Los Angeles I always prepare my makeup kit with the essential products.

Camera-ready makeup isn’t concerning heavy coverage or too bright colors. It’s about understanding what the camera is going to see. It’s about proper tone, accentuation. Clean, moisturized skin is that the ideal palette to work on. The camera can pick up on dry or excessively oily skin very easily. Television cameras and bright lights will alter your appearance drastically and there’s no way around it makeup is essential. A primer will ensure that your foundation doesn’t sink into your skin.

Scotch Porter is more than just a brand; it’s a call to action. When Calvin Quallis left the comfort of his cushy desk job last year to pursue his dream of creating the ultimate men’s grooming line, he did so with the intent of making the most stylishly accessible products in the game. Scotch Porter is for the modern day man who wants to look his best at all times. Your first impression is your last impression, and while you rock your distressed denim, cashmere sweater and leather bag or even your suit and tie, we’ve got you covered on the rest. From head to toe.

Los Angeles Television Wardrobe Stylist | Sugar Lady TV Commercial

Los Angeles Television Wardrobe Stylist | Sugar Lady TV Commercial

As a Los Angeles television wardrobe stylist, I principally work on TV commercials. while I lived in Shanghai, China I was hired by Fred and Farid, an international independent advertising agency to work on a project with one of their clients, Sugar Lady, on their next commercial. Moreover, the production company asked me to bring on board, a hair and makeup team for this commercial.

On this commercial, I took care of the direction we were going regarding the appearance for wardrobe and hair-makeup. The style was very elegant and minimal, I used only monochrome colours for accessories and I selected very large brim hats to keep our model mysterious. In fashion terms, hats are a very noticeable accessory because the onlooker’s attention is first drawn to the face. For this reason, I made sure the costumers first attention would be drawn to Sugar Lady’s newest collection.

For styling, the key things you need are creativity, communication skills, and good teamwork. With luxury brands, these things are very important as a result of the clients have really refined taste. There are some inherent and learned qualities that build a successful fashion stylist.

As a wardrobe stylist agency in Los Angeles, you need to have several wardrobe and fashion stylists in your roster to recommend for specific projects. You can represent stylists in each category, for example luxury, sport, beauty, and fashion.

Sugar Lady has been a ladies fashion brand for over 30 years. Sugar Lady is a luxury brand or prestige brand for which a majority of its products are luxury fashion clothes and accessories.

Kid’s Wardrobe Stylist | KinderJoy China TV Commercial

Kid’s Wardrobe Stylist | KinderJoy China TV Commercial

I collaborated with  ZORBA-Group ad agency as a kid’s wardrobe stylist on their KinderJoy China TV Commercial. ZORBA is a large agency with offices in Paris, Shanghai, and Singapore. The commercial was produced by Studio Supreme.

For this TV commercial I had 2 Chinese families to style including 6 kids. The color palette the client and agency choose was pastel. Pastels are one of the major trends this season and my favorite combinations for advertising shoots. As a kid’s wardrobe stylist, some of the brands I love to work with are ZARA, Uniqlo, Gap and H&M. These fashion brands always carry different styles and fabric options in their latest collections so I can mix and match their wardrobe. Working with kids is always exciting, they bring high energy to the set.

ZORBA-Group mix the world of artists, scientists and technologies to create the crème de la crème of storytelling and brand contents for all medias and audience. ZORBA-Group is a ad agency, a collective, a brand content company or a production company.

The story of the KINDER™ brand begins in 1968 at the heart of a small Italian town named Alba. Michele Ferrero developed KINDER CHOCOLATE and added what would become a famous brand for the Ferrero company, which remains family owned today. Ferrero couldn’t be more proud of its history and is delighted to take the strong foundation of the past and continue to bring KINDER™ into the future.

In conclusion I loved working with KINDER™ and hope we can continue collaborating on upcoming TV commercials in the near future.

Professional Makeup Artist in LA | Hollywood Shine Beauty Editorial

Professional Makeup Artist in LA | Hollywood Shine Beauty Editorial

As a professional makeup artist in LA I was working with fashion model / influencer Kenzo Lauren on an editorial beauty shoot in Los Angeles. The fashion shoot entitled Hollywood Shine, has been published by Dear Velvet on their online blog. We found Kenzo while I was looking for fashion models in the Los Angeles area. We arranged this photo shoot in several locations in Hollywood, Venice and Santa Monica, launching our first fashion photo collaboration.

Most importantly we were going for a high end look on this shoot, inspired by the Oscars. From gold makeup to sparkling nails, the looks exuded Hollywood glamour. I managed Kenzo’s makeup and styling for this editorial. Eye makeup speaks volumes about your style and when done right, it has the power to be immensely transformative. So it did for Kenzo. I chose matching cocktail dresses to complete her look for this shoot.

As a professional makeup artist in LA, I always arrive to fashion shoots with a fully equipped kit of high-quality cosmetics in a wide variety of colors. Highlighter is the ultimate photo-ready secret. On this editorial I used gold and silver glitter as well for eye shadow. A little glitter liner is a super fun way to add some sparkle to your look.

Dear Velvet is a diary of style, creativity and wanderlust. We first connected in 2015 with the DV team and since then, they have published several amazing articles about my work as a professional makeup artist in LA.

From the founder of DV : “Art and fashion, writing, photography and sheer curiosity keep me up late, playing in the digital world and on the road in the real one.”

Fashion Stylist in Los Angeles | Glamour Sales Commercial

Fashion Stylist in Los Angeles | Glamour Sales Commercial

One of my first commercials as fashion stylist was for Glamour Sales back in 2014 in Shanghai, China. The project was entitled “Glam Dog”, and it’s spokesdog became the brand’s community manager on Weibo, WeChat, and other digital platforms for Glamour Sales. The spokesdog was the star of the “Glam Dog Fashion Show” organized by Fred & Farid Shanghai at the Bund in Shanghai, and it went viral with 2.65 million views.

This was one of my most exciting shoots when I started to work in the advertising industry as a fashion stylist. I had 2 dogs to style so had to play very well with the brand accessories and create costumes for the dogs.

A small blurb from Jing Daily states; Shanghai has found its next big thing, and it struts on four legs and has a tail. As fashion e-commerce brands race to find the sexiest stars to be the face of their brand, Fred & Farid Shanghai, a creative agency, found the perfect solution for online luxury flash sale company Glamour Sales’ need for a glamorous ambassador—they found a “spokesdog.”

In 2014 the Fred & Farid agency received a winning award as well from the Webby Awards  for this commercial.

Freelance Wardrobe Stylist in Los Angeles | OPPO Print Campaign

Freelance Wardrobe Stylist in Los Angeles | OPPO Print Campaign

Amanacliq production company in Shanghai, China found me to style a shoot for OPPO smartphones. As a freelance wardrobe stylist,  I was hired onto this commercial production as the key wardrobe stylist.

We had 2 freelance models who flew to Shanghai from Guangzhou, China for this campaign shoot. We had different themes, one business casual, one lifestyle and sporty. Our location was StudioArk, Amanacliq‘s official studio space. I was working closely with the Amanacliq production team to get the final looks approved. As a freelance wardrobe stylist in Los Angeles I love to collaborate with new clients, agencies, brands and commercial production companies and travel for work.

This print campaign’s main theme for wardrobe was business casual. Business casual is very versatile. Wardrobe can be paired with more dressed up pieces to look more “put together” and mature, or they can be worn with much more casual pieces for a more laid-back vibe. Some examples of these items can be black blazers, button down shirts, nice flats, cool blouses and cute, easy dresses.
