Los Angeles Television Wardrobe Stylist | Sugar Lady TV Commercial

Los Angeles Television Wardrobe Stylist | Sugar Lady TV Commercial

As a Los Angeles television wardrobe stylist, I principally work on TV commercials. while I lived in Shanghai, China I was hired by Fred and Farid, an international independent advertising agency to work on a project with one of their clients, Sugar Lady, on their next commercial. Moreover, the production company asked me to bring on board, a hair and makeup team for this commercial.

In this commercial, I took care of the direction we were going regarding the appearance for wardrobe and hair-makeup. The style was very elegant and minimal, I used only monochrome colors for accessories and I selected very large brim hats to keep our model mysterious. In fashion terms, hats are a very noticeable accessory because the onlooker’s attention is first drawn to the face. For this reason, I made sure the costumer’s first attention would be drawn to Sugar Lady’s newest collection.

For styling, the key things you need are creativity, communication skills, and good teamwork. With luxury brands, these things are very important as a result of the clients have really refined taste. There are some inherent and learned qualities that build a successful fashion stylist.

As a wardrobe stylist agency in Los Angeles, you need to have several wardrobes and fashion stylists in your roster to recommend for specific projects. You can represent stylists in each category, for example, luxury, sport, beauty, and fashion.

Sugar Lady has been a ladies’ fashion brand for over 30 years. Sugar Lady is a luxury brand or prestige brand for which a majority of its products are luxury fashion clothes and accessories.

Fashion Stylist in Los Angeles | Glamour Sales Commercial

Fashion Stylist in Los Angeles | Glamour Sales Commercial

One of my first commercials as fashion stylist was for Glamour Sales back in 2014 in Shanghai, China. The project was entitled “Glam Dog”, and it’s spokesdog became the brand’s community manager on Weibo, WeChat, and other digital platforms for Glamour Sales. The spokesdog was the star of the “Glam Dog Fashion Show” organized by Fred & Farid Shanghai at the Bund in Shanghai, and it went viral with 2.65 million views.

This was one of my most exciting shoots when I started to work in the advertising industry as a fashion stylist. I had 2 dogs to style so had to play very well with the brand accessories and create costumes for the dogs.

A small blurb from Jing Daily states; Shanghai has found its next big thing, and it struts on four legs and has a tail. As fashion e-commerce brands race to find the sexiest stars to be the face of their brand, Fred & Farid Shanghai, a creative agency, found the perfect solution for online luxury flash sale company Glamour Sales’ need for a glamorous ambassador—they found a “spokesdog.”

In 2014 the Fred & Farid agency received a winning award as well from the Webby Awards  for this commercial.

Freelance Wardrobe Stylist in Los Angeles | OPPO Print Campaign

Freelance Wardrobe Stylist in Los Angeles | OPPO Print Campaign

As a freelance wardrobe stylist,  I was hired onto this commercial production as the key wardrobe stylist. Amanacliq production company in Shanghai, China found me to style a shoot for OPPO smartphones.

We had 2 freelance models who flew to Shanghai from Guangzhou, China for this campaign shoot. We had different themes, one business casual, one lifestyle and sporty. Our location was StudioArk, Amanacliq‘s official studio space. I was working closely with the Amanacliq production team to get the final looks approved. As a freelance wardrobe stylist in Los Angeles I love to collaborate with new clients, agencies, brands and commercial production companies and travel for work.

This print campaign’s main theme for wardrobe was business casual. Business casual is very versatile. Wardrobe can be paired with more dressed up pieces to look more “put together” and mature, or they can be worn with much more casual pieces for a more laid-back vibe. Some examples of these items can be black blazers, button down shirts, nice flats, cool blouses and cute, easy dresses.

About OPPO, the selfie expert and leader, OPPO is ranked as the number 4 smartphone brand globally since 2016* and is
providing excellent selfie experiences to more and more young people around the world. For the last 10 years, OPPO has been focusing on selfie technology breakthroughs. OPPO innovated selfie beautification and drove the selfie trend in the smartphone industry.

I had a great time working with the Amancliq production company and OPPO, I hope to create a lasting business relationship with them for the future.
