Celebrity Wardrobe Stylist Los Angeles | DTLA Photoshoot

Celebrity Wardrobe Stylist Los Angeles | DTLA Photoshoot

I would like to share a fun experience I recently had working as a celebrity wardrobe stylist Los Angeles. L.A. has a great community of creatives working with each other. Tarek Reed is the fashion photographer I worked with on this campaign. I have already worked with him on a couple of projects,  his works are simply stunning.

Celebrities and influences are some of my favorite people to work with because they have a certain energy that is contagious. These celebrities and influencers have a certain personal brand that they have achieved which makes each one unique to the style. This group of talent also gives me a lot of options to create the looks that they can easily pull off. Working with them is always an adventure and experimental at times.

Tarek Reed is one of my favorite fashion photographers. It was a pleasure to work with him, especially because there are a lot of people he can pick for a celebrity wardrobe stylist in Los Angeles. We did photo shoots for a few projects for clients including fashion stores, showrooms and model agencies. We got a behind the scenes videographer to shoot a video of this particular collaboration. Working with a professional like Tarek Reed is a great opportunity to cultivate my work. We are currently in the process of submitting the final images for publication. It is exciting to see the final products when you have helped produce beautiful photos. It is even more exciting to see them in publications.

During the shoot with Tarek Reed, I did my job as a celebrity wardrobe stylist. Downtown Los Angeles was our location. Many people ask what a celebrity wardrobe stylist does, so I’ll make a shortlist of the things I actually do during a project:

  • I select items including fashion items and props that a model can use for a shoot whether it is for magazine, billboards or other media.
  • Sometimes I also advise the photographer on what would look good in photos and items that are then chosen for us to promote.
  • I Communicate with celebrities/models, retailers, designers, brands, hairdressers, photographers, etc.
  • I also do makeup and hairstyling for celebrities during a photoshoot.
  • Generally, I advise clients about what fashion direction they should take.

A celebrity wardrobe stylist may do the things listed above, and more, but the main goal is to make the model or the celebrity look good for a shoot whether on video or in photographs. It does sound fun, right? Working with different kinds of creatives and putting together something beautiful for others to look at.

So what does it take to be a celebrity wardrobe stylist? I found out after years of working in this job, that passion for fashion and unique trends is the first and foremost thing that a wardrobe stylist must-have. Next to that, is a keen eye for beauty. What colors match the model’s tone? What items must be selected for the celebrity to wear to make the photographs stand out? These are all the things that I think about every day on the job.

Los Angeles Television Wardrobe Stylist | Sugar Lady TV Commercial

Los Angeles Television Wardrobe Stylist | Sugar Lady TV Commercial

As a Los Angeles television wardrobe stylist, I principally work on TV commercials. while I lived in Shanghai, China I was hired by Fred and Farid, an international independent advertising agency to work on a project with one of their clients, Sugar Lady, on their next commercial. Moreover, the production company asked me to bring on board, a hair and makeup team for this commercial.

In this commercial, I took care of the direction we were going regarding the appearance for wardrobe and hair-makeup. The style was very elegant and minimal, I used only monochrome colors for accessories and I selected very large brim hats to keep our model mysterious. In fashion terms, hats are a very noticeable accessory because the onlooker’s attention is first drawn to the face. For this reason, I made sure the costumer’s first attention would be drawn to Sugar Lady’s newest collection.

For styling, the key things you need are creativity, communication skills, and good teamwork. With luxury brands, these things are very important as a result of the clients have really refined taste. There are some inherent and learned qualities that build a successful fashion stylist.

As a wardrobe stylist agency in Los Angeles, you need to have several wardrobes and fashion stylists in your roster to recommend for specific projects. You can represent stylists in each category, for example, luxury, sport, beauty, and fashion.

Sugar Lady has been a ladies’ fashion brand for over 30 years. Sugar Lady is a luxury brand or prestige brand for which a majority of its products are luxury fashion clothes and accessories.

Fashion Stylist in Los Angeles | Glamour Sales Commercial

Fashion Stylist in Los Angeles | Glamour Sales Commercial

One of my first commercials as fashion stylist was for Glamour Sales back in 2014 in Shanghai, China. The project was entitled “Glam Dog”, and it’s spokesdog became the brand’s community manager on Weibo, WeChat, and other digital platforms for Glamour Sales. The spokesdog was the star of the “Glam Dog Fashion Show” organized by Fred & Farid Shanghai at the Bund in Shanghai, and it went viral with 2.65 million views.

This was one of my most exciting shoots when I started to work in the advertising industry as a fashion stylist. I had 2 dogs to style so had to play very well with the brand accessories and create costumes for the dogs.

A small blurb from Jing Daily states; Shanghai has found its next big thing, and it struts on four legs and has a tail. As fashion e-commerce brands race to find the sexiest stars to be the face of their brand, Fred & Farid Shanghai, a creative agency, found the perfect solution for online luxury flash sale company Glamour Sales’ need for a glamorous ambassador—they found a “spokesdog.”

In 2014 the Fred & Farid agency received a winning award as well from the Webby Awards  for this commercial.

As a freelance wardrobe stylist,  I was hired onto this commercial production as the key wardrobe stylist. Amanacliq production company in Shanghai, China found me to style a shoot for OPPO smartphones.

Professional Wardrobe Stylist in Los Angeles | BRAND’S TV Commercial

Professional Wardrobe Stylist in Los Angeles | BRAND’S TV Commercial

Recently 3388 Films found me to style a BRAND’S TV commercial shoot. As a professional wardrobe stylist in Los Angeles,  I was hired onto this commercial production as the key wardrobe stylist.

We had multiple outfits for the talent to match each of the brand’s products and looks. This TV commercial took place on location in Los Angeles in a modern house in West Hollywood. This commercial / branded shoot took 2 days to capture on camera. This particular brand already has a very established style so my job was to match this commercial styling to heir previous campaigns.

As a wardrobe stylist I had been working in Shanghai, China for 5 years where I had the luck to collaborate many times with Asian clients. Through my previous experience, it was easy to understand the type of aesthetic this client was looking for. In terms of color aesthetic, their products are packaged in red a green boxes so I used pastel colors and reds to highlight and complement their branding. We had multiple wardrobe options by the time of the fitting. Everything fit perfectly on the models so during the set, all I had to adjust were the clothes to look perfect the camera. I’m very happy  about how this branded commercial turned out and it truly highlights my job as a professional wardrobe stylist.

I had a great time working with Brand’s Worldwide and hope to create a lasting business relationship with them for the future.

TV Commercial Wardrobe Stylist in Los Angeles | ForwardX

TV Commercial Wardrobe Stylist in Los Angeles | ForwardX

I had the opportunity to work with ForwardX robotics luggage as a TV commercial wardrobe stylist in Los Angeles. As a commercial wardrobe stylist for photo/video shoots, I constantly need to dress models or actors for certain themes or products. This can involve planning the wardrobe, purchasing the clothing and accessories, fitting the models or actors, and staying on set to make sure the talent looks production ready. After the production days are wrapped I return the clothing and accessories.

In this corporate commercial video the production was going for a modern, business casual look. Our main talent had a very corporate dress code, his outfit had to look professional. The other cast included TSA agents, stewardesses and passenger extras for wardrobe styling. The shoot took place at an airport nearby Los Angeles. We were filming for 1 day. For this particular TV commercial we had to follow a strict dress code policy and make the wardrobe look like real TSA agent uniforms and stewardess dresses.

I love working in this industry as a TV commercial wardrobe stylist. My main focus is to bring order, organization and creativity to productions.

ForwardX is committed to deliver the most intelligent and intuitive-designed robotics, powered by the most cutting-edge computer vision and self-driving technologies. This is the first suitcase which has a robotic engine inside. Los Angeles Wardrobe Stylist | MTailor TV Commercial

Los Angeles Wardrobe Stylist | MTailor TV Commercial

Recently I was called in by Aris production house to collaborate on an MTailor branded TV commercial shoot. As a Los Angeles wardrobe stylist,  I was hired onto this commercial production as the key wardrobe stylist.

There were 4 actors to style and to make sure their outfits fit perfectly on camera, the director and I collaborated heavily on the concept and mood of the shoot. This TV commercial was shot in 1 day on a location where an airplane was built, dressed and used as set design.

Commercials and branded videos have always been a challenge because the pressure and requirements are very high for demanding brands. As a Los Angeles wardrobe stylist the standards of the industry require that I am extremely detailed and on my game at all times.

MTailor is a custom clothing company that exclusively uses a smartphone app which takes your measurements to create custom shirts, trousers, and suits. The concept of this company is to design perfect fitting custom clothing so this made my job easier, not having to fit each actor (it was already done for me!). All their shirts, suits, jeans, chinos, and tees are made of very high quality materials, the seams are neat and even, the fabric feels durable, and all of the buttons are securely attached.

Styling is one of the most important elements of any fashion brand campaign. It governs how your clothes look in your store and helps to ensure they stand out amongst the sea of similar brands on the market. Every adult male should own a suit—just pay attention to the shade you’ve got.

From Miles, the founder of MTailor:

“At MTailor, we are bringing professional quality custom shirts into the modern era. We make it easy, convenient and fast while maintaining an amazing fit and quality shirts.
