Social Media Influencer | Revlon Makeup Collaboration

Social Media Influencer | Revlon Makeup Collaboration

As a social media influencer , I’ve collaborated with Revlon Makeup. As a Los Angeles social media influencer I build a reputation for my knowledge and expertise on a particular topic. I make regular posts about that topic on my preferred social media channels such as Instagram / Facebook and generate large followings of enthusiastic engaged people who pay close attention to my views.

About Revlon: Always a trendsetter, Revlon has been providing women with accessible and original beauty products to inspire and empower

Wonder Woman Gal Gadot, Ashley Graham, Adwoa Aboah, Imaan Hammam, and Raquel Zimmermann are all breaking the mold in the beauty industry in one way or another. By challenging conventional standards of beauty and speaking up to promote and spread messages of self-love and inclusivity, each one of them has managed to embody what it means to live boldly.

Revlon just announced the five multi-hyphenates as global ambassadors for its new spring 2018 campaign, which is aptly called “Live Boldly” and aims to empower its legions of lipstick-buying loyalists to live each day authentically. Revlon has sent to me numerous times their newest makeup collections including the ‘Live Boldly’ fantastic lipstick collection.

These lipsticks are iconic and have a really good quality. The packaging of the lipstick is my favorite part because it is so classic and beautiful. As a Los Angeles makeup artist I need the lipstick lasts for a long time on my cleints, they of course don’t last on for days, but they look pretty on the lips if you don’t eat or drink. I would recommend them to anybody!

Los Angeles Makeup Artist | Collaboration with Michael M. Haase

Los Angeles Makeup Artist | Collaboration with Michael M. Haase

As a Los Angeles makeup artist , I’ve had the luck to work with Michael M. Haase on his Hairbrained live video. I was the key makeup artist on this shoot. This live video was shot in 1 day in Michael’s new hair salon at Salon Platinum Black in Los Angeles, CA at Westwood Village.

We matched the bold red hairstyle with black smokey eyes, this is how I created the look:

  • Applied eye base all over the lid. Used a fluffy crease brush, applied a netural eyeshadow to the transition between the crease and brow bone.
  • With a detailing contour brush, applied a darker shade eyeshadow to the eye socket area and lower lash line. Blended well.
  • Used a flat brush, applied balck eyeshadow and black cream eyeshadow/eyeliner to the lid.
  • Used a the detailing brush to blend out the harsh edges
  • Lined the entire waterline with a waterproof eyeliner and smudged some on the lower lash line.
  • Applied mascara and falsies

Michael M. Haase is both an educator and stylist, working with Wella Professionals. He is also the head stylist at his own Salon Platinum Black. Haase continues to design and re-design as fashion trends are always in a state of reinvention. He has cemented his place in the industry as a professional hairdresser, educator and artist. Haase now believes that by passing his knowledge to other hairdressers they will continue their path to become “the NEW elite” in the fashionable world of hair artistry.

I had an wonderful time working with Michaels’s team as a Los Angeles makeup artist, I hope to create a long lasting relationship with them for the future.

Los Angeles Wardrobe Stylist | Joybird Furniture Advertising

Los Angeles Wardrobe Stylist | Joybird Furniture Advertising

Joybird, a furniture company hired me as a Los Angeles wardrobe stylist for their commercial spot a couple of months ago. I love to work with brands who have great taste in their marketing and advertising materials. We shot this commercial spot for 4 days in their studio in Los Angeles, CA.

I styled 4 talents through multiple wardrobe changes during this commercial production. The wardrobe direction given from the director was casual and lifestyle so I brought many options from ZARA and H&M stores. In advertising I usually shop new clothes from a variety of brands. I shop A lot, especially if I work on a branded content/ad. I usually shop three to four times the amount I actually need. I’m expected to have endless options for the clients.

I love to be on set, I could work alone if it’s a small shoot or if it doesn’t require to have assistants. This is an entire job to steam and make everything look as it has to be.

About Joybird: Joybird was founded on the idea that people should never settle when it comes to their home furnishing, but rather have the freedom to be boldly original. Joybird is humbled to be a part of your home. Joybird offers high-quality, responsibly sourced furniture meant to last a lifetime. Commercial Makeup Artist | Drink Bai Promo Video

Commercial Makeup Artist | Drink Bai Promo Video

As a commercial makeup artist , I’ve had the opportunity to work with Drink Bai on their festival promo video. I was the key makeup artist and wardrobe stylist on this shoot. This stop-motion commercial video was shot in 1 day in a studio in Los Angeles, CA at Sibling in Atwater Village.

Our technique to shoot this commercial spot was really unique. Stop-Motion is similar to Time Lapse in that you’re taking a series of single images at a certain interval, like clouds in a Time Lapse, you’re moving the subject itself and animating it. In Stop Motion photography we were doing the same thing, but instead of shooting all those frames in real time, we were shooting one image, then moving the subject, shooting another image, moving the subject again, and so on. The motion comes together when all those images are edited into a continuous movie.

About Drink Bai: Each serving of Bai offers fresh fruit flavor infused with coffeefruit, our “secret superfruit”, which has antioxidants. Sweetened with stevia leaf extract, Bai is the five-calorie way to bring healthy, bold flavor into your life. Bai’s mission is to share the powerful antioxidant goodness of coffee’s superfruit and always move toward optimum, healthy living.

About the director: Shal Ngo is a writer / director / editor / animator / bean enthusiast. He splits his time between New York, Los Angeles, and Ho Chi Minh City.

I had an wonderful time working with Shal Ngo‘s team as a commercial makeup artist, I hope to create a long lasting relationship with them for the future.

Celebrity Makeup Artist | LANY x Julia Michaels OKAY Music Video

Celebrity Makeup Artist | LANY x Julia Michaels OKAY Music Video

As a celebrity makeup artist , I’ve had the opportunity to work with LANY x Julia Michaels on their OKAY music video. I was the lead makeup artist and hair stylist on this project.

LANY is an American indie pop band from Los Angeles, formed in 2014. The band consists of Paul Jason Klein, Charles Leslie “Les” Priest, and Jake Clifford Goss. Julia Carin Cavazos, known professionally as Julia Michaels, is an American singer and songwriter from Davenport, Iowa.

The Los Angeles alt-pop band LANY has teamed up with superstar Julia Michaels for its latest single called OKAY. The tune is surprisingly catchy and light for such a heavy topic, but the rhythmic beat adds to the feeling of, yes, maybe I will be okay amidst the darkness.

This music video production for LANY was shot in Venice Beach and in Moonlight Rollerway with an overnight production schedule. With my makeup artist assistant, Mya, we had to stay mobile during the entire shoot. Over the past several years, I’ve been able to polish my skills as a Los Angeles celebrity makeup artist. I’ve managed to gain a vast range of experience, worked with many different clients, and allowing my ambition and energy to assist in the creative process and provide a satisfying result.

I had an wonderful time working with Univeral Music Group, Julia Michaels and LANY‘s team as a celebrity makeup artist, I hope to create a long lasting relationship with them for the future.

Freelance Fashion Stylist | Dear Velvet Editorial Shoot

Freelance Fashion Stylist | Dear Velvet Editorial Shoot

As a freelance fashion stylist, I love to travel for work. I had the luck of flying to the Philippines to style an editorial for Dear Velvet blog. My concept was to use only scarves as outfits. As DV said “One scarf really can do it all. Every travel article I’ve ever read advises taking a scarf to wear as a bandana, blanket, hankie and so on: it’s a camping staple. Packing just one thing seems like a revolutionary idea. Truly, just one scarf can double for almost every item in your wardrobe.”

A classic silk scarf is an investment piece in your wardrobe, that never goes out of style. Wearing a silk scarf with your outfit is a genius way to add instant, effortless chic to any look. But as with many accessories, it’s all in the styling.

Think saris and sarongs, bandanas and bralettes; experiment with twisting and make yourself a halter. Sleeveless or side layered, this is an easy way to dip into the bare shoulder trend. Headscarves, skirts and even bikinis are all there for a little artful tucking and tying. With Summer imminent and the endless hunt for holiday clothes occupying too much of our leisure browsing.

I had a great time working with Dear Velvet team as a freelance fashion stylist and hope to collaborate with him in the future. Here you can take a look on the editoral: https://dearvelvet.com/category/style/page/3/

Los Angeles Makeup Artist | Lifestyle shoot in DTLA

Los Angeles Makeup Artist | Lifestyle shoot in DTLA

Being a Los Angeles makeup artist I would like to share with you a couple of tricks and basic fixes which will help to deal with shiny or uneven skin tone, tired eyes, and unpronounced features in general. In real life, there’s nothing targeting and bouncing light off of your face, washing out your features. The human eye sees differently than the lens of a camera, which is why you look very different in the mirror versus in a picture.

Let’s start with the basics:

Mattifying, full-coverage base makeup will help your skin to look soft and even, plus it will combat shininess. Using a makeup brush will help to blend the product into a natural-looking finish.

Next up – Foundation: With a foundation brush, blend foundation evenly all over clean, moisturized skin.

Don’t forget the concealer: Apply your foundation first and then conceal the problem areas that still stand out. Use a minimal amount of concealer and blend well.

Last but not least – Translucent Powder: Lightly sweep powder over the center of the forehead, the center of the nose, and chin. Apply it as a final step, so you can tell where you need it, it will remove shine. A glow-y complexion looks great in person, but on camera, it can reflect like an oil slick. The trick is to leave the dewiness on your cheeks, but keep the middle of your face matte.

Check out my next blog articles for other on camera makeup tricks like creating natural eyebrows, eyeshadow,  eyelashes, lipstick and applying bronzer, blush, and highlighter for contouring.
