As a makeup artist and hair stylist in Los Angeles, I recently had the pleasure of working on a Visit Anaheim commercial and print campaign shoot in Los Angeles, California.

On this latest commercial set, I had the luck of working with eight different talents. The goal was a natural camera ready look that is fresh, vibrant aesthetic read beautifully on camera, and fast-paced shoots like this always push my precision and creativity to the next level. I love the challenge of taking a brand’s specific vision and bringing it to life by elevating the natural beauty of everyone who sits in my makeup chair.

Jimmy John’s Commercial | Professional Makeup Artist

Jimmy John’s Franchise, LLC, commonly referred to as Jimmy John’s, is an American multinational sandwich chain, headquartered in Champaign, Illinois. The business was founded by Jimmy John Liautaud in 1983. After Liautaud graduated from high school, his father gave him a choice to either join the military or start a business. Liautaud decided to start a hot dog business, which changed to sandwiches due to costs.

On set, I was responsible for makeup for four talents, ensuring each look translated seamlessly on camera while aligning with the fresh, vibrant tone of the campaign. Working in a fast-paced commercial environment always pushes creativity and precision, and this shoot was no exception. My approach to makeup artistry is rooted in enhancing natural beauty while aligning with the brand’s vision. For this campaign, that meant fresh, approachable, and effortless looks that complemented the vibrant, energetic tone of Jimmy John’s new Greek Gyro launch.

P&G x Diwali Times Square Campaign | Celebrity Makeup Artist

As a celebrity makeup artist, I recently had the pleasure of collaborating with Plan C Agency and P&G, on home product commercial spots for the celebration of Diwali which is the Hindu festival of lights.

Tiger House Films produced these commercials. The creative production team at Tiger House Films filmed five separate spots for the P&G brands Secret, Always, Tide, Head & Shoulders and Bounty. Each of these separate spots starred a different South Asian influencer that introduced and used the products. These influencers were @seeratsaini @amidesai @notyourammaskitchen @kalissapersaud @geena_singh.

This unique series of spots was shot all in a single 12 hour production day, which took quite a bit of coordination and pre-production planning to put together in a smooth an efficient way. Our goal, along with PCA was to create a series of spots that reflected South Asian culture accurately. With the help of Director Neeraj Jain and Co-director Kate Li Dennis, the details of the script and content matched the needs of the Diwali theme.

These commercial spots were shown on TV as well as in Times Square on Diwali. We created these hair and makeup looks with Penny Kohli. The direction was to create Diwali makeup. Diwali is the perfect occasion to experiment with bold, glowing, and festive-inspired makeup styles. Whether you choose glitter glam, smoky eyes, or a soft, glowing base, the key to a radiant Diwali makeup look lies in balancing your features while enhancing your natural beauty.

Lifestyle Video Makeup Artist | Gardenhouse Beverly Hills Real Estate Video Shoot

As a lifestyle video makeup artist, I had the luck of working with Gardenhouse and Wicked+ team on a lifestyle video shoot in Beverly Hills, CA. I had 1 female and 1 male model to do camera-ready hair and makeup for during this production.

About Gardenhouse: Gardenhouse reimagines the modern lifestyle of Beverly Hills with expertly designed homes. These 2-story, 3-bedroom penthouses feature high-ceilings and expansive views of the city. The first project in the United States from world-renowned MAD Architects.

Wicked+ is a full-service branding, marketing, public relations, and design firm based in Hermosa Beach, California. They specialize in designing market-defining brands and crafting highly-personalized PR, social, and advertising campaigns that are focused on lifestyle, brand storytelling, and consumer engagement.

I love my job as a Los Angeles makeup artist and I love working with a wide range of different looks and styles that my clients request. I get excited about working with agencies such as Wicked+. I am always curious as to what I can contribute to these projects. Most of all, I delight in seeing my work used by clients in their social media posts, campaigns, and websites. In this lifestyle branded video for our models, I created natural and camera-ready hair/makeup looks.

Working as a hair/makeup combo on branded videos allows me the freedom of creating a full glam look for the artists, models, and actors. Onset in Los Angeles, we always run into unexpected situations so it is very important to be on top of your task.

A film hairstylist is a person in charge of creating character hairstyle designs and styling actors’ hair on set. Film hairstylists work in both film and television and are an integral part of the entertainment industry.

The job of a leading Hollywood hairstylist starts in pre-production, by creating and designing the hairstyles for the film. The key hairstylist, the person in charge of the hair department, works with the director, production designer, and key makeup artist to create original designs that fit into the overall visual pastiche of the film.

As a key hairstylist, I oversee the hair department and delegates responsibilities to individual hairstylists. The duties of other stylists in the hair department include:

Work with the key hairstylist to learn all hair designs prior to shooting.
Style the actors’ hair on shoot days.
Ensure that no products, wigs, or prosthetic caps damage the actors’ natural hair or skin.
Provide hair care or skincare tips that may help the actors during a shoot.
Maintain all wigs in the hair and makeup trailer.

An all-in-one skin rejuvenating treatment obtains its extraordinary benefits from an exclusive cocktail of seven molecular factors achieved through cutting-edge technology. This ultra-powerful serum intensely moisturizes y restoring volume and helps strengthen the skin’s defense mechanisms, improving its tightening capacity and preserving its suppleness and elasticity.

You can apply Alleven all over your body or in a specific area you wish to beautify. All you have to do is hold the can at least 8 inches away from your face and spray in 2-3 second bursts. I love to use it, this is the ultimate body makeup essential. Try spraying the foundation onto a brush or makeup sponge, then blend onto your face. Doing it this way will save you from wasting a ton of excess product, allow you to manage the amount of coverage you want. Once you get used to the product, you can apply directly to your face from the spray bottle.

The soap brows hack went viral for full, fluffy brows that stay in place all. All you need is a West Barn Co. soap brow, a disposable spoolie brush, and some water or setting spray. Just wet your brush and lightly drag it across the soap. My clients love it when I create this eyebrow look.

Los Angeles Makeup Artist | COOLA Suncare Collaboration

As a Los Angeles makeup artist, I collaborated with COOLA, a wide range of organic and healthy sunscreen & skincare essentials. Sunscreen is the most important skincare product you can ever use.

A Broad Spectrum or Full Spectrum sunscreen protects your skin from the damaging exposure of the sun’s ultraviolet radiation. There are two types of ultraviolet (UV) light, UVA and UVB.

UVA rays penetrate into the skin’s dermis prematurely aging the skin causing it to wrinkle and develop brown age spots.
UVB rays can burn the skin, they vary in intensity depending on the season, location, and time of day.

Using sunscreen daily, even when it is cloudy or raining, dramatically decreases your risk of developing skin cancer, keeps you looking young, and keeps your skin tone even. Even if you don’t burn easily, wearing sunscreen is still important.

Traveling Hair and Makeup Artist | Portrait Session in Croatia with Domagoj Horak

As a traveling hair and makeup artist, I’ve had the opportunity to work with fashion/portrait photographer Domagoj Horak on a portrait shoot session in Zadar, Croatia. Domagoj Horak is a Croatia-based photographer/videographer. He has a passion for design and digital marketing as well.

Domagoj Horak captured me in a Croatia traveling story while I visited the country. A good portrait draws attention to the model. This is normally achieved through some combination of a shallow depth of field, composition, color, and lighting. You should be able to look at a good portrait and know something about them. The best portrait artists can tell a whole story in a single image.

As a commercial makeup artist, I did my own hair and makeup. Dark Swan Of Denmark sent me an amazing set of lash collection so I used their lashes on this photoshoot session. For foundation, I used Paris Berlin and for eye shadows, I used the MAC Cosmetics palette. I wanted to keep my hair and makeup natural-looking and having a glowing skin tone. Natural makeup will enhance your features. It’s a simple approach that focuses on a few key areas – skin, eyes, and lips – and brings out your best in a subtle way. Natural makeup will never go out of fashion.
