Top Wardrobe Stylist in Hollywood | Vtech TV Commercial

Top Wardrobe Stylist in Hollywood | Vtech TV Commercial

Being a top wardrobe stylist in Hollywood, I mostly work on TV commercials and branded videos. I got a chance a couple of months ago to work with Justin Bell production company for two Vtech TV commercial spots. Justin Bell production was contacted by Vtech to produce several social media videos. Justin Bell is a feature film, TV, commercial, and new media producer based in Los Angeles.

I styled 4 kids and 4 moms through multiple wardrobe changes during this commercial production. The wardrobe direction given from the client and director was lifestyle and casual so I brought many options from H&M and ZARA stores. Working with children is so much fun, I love that in every single filming day they are bringing something new and exciting. I was the key hair and makeup artist as well on this project.

Our director was Alice Lilan Bowden, she is an American actress, filmmaker, and comedian known for her role as Rebecca “Bex” Mack in Andi Mack. She loves to sketch, improv, and TV shows about the imagined dangers of technology.

VTech is a global supplier of electronic learning products from infancy to preschool and the world’s largest manufacturer of cordless phones based in Hong Kong. It is also one of the top 50 electronic manufacturing services providers globally.

I had a great time working with Justin Bell productions and Vtech‘s team as a top wardrobe stylist in Hollywood and hope to create a lasting business relationship with them for the future.

My main responsibilities include providing fashion advice; choosing and coordinating outfits for the talents/actors/models in photo shoots or actors in television and film, and choosing props and accessories and preparing them for shoots.

Los Angeles Production Designer | Awana TV commercial

Los Angeles Production Designer | Awana TV commercial

A few months ago, I had the pleasure of working as a Los Angeles production designer and wardrobe stylist with OX Creates and Justin Bell Productions on a commercial shoot for our client, Awana, an international Christian nonprofit organization that focuses on educating children of all ages in biblical studies, and gives them the opportunity to know, love and serve Jesus, regardless of their background. Their mission is to help “reach kids, equip leaders, and change the world for God”.

The commercial depicts the stories of three characters, Chloe, Jay, and Brent. Each of them have their own backstory and from different parts of the world. Throughout the course of the commercial, we see each of them go through their own set of trials and tribulations and how they’re able to find God in the process.

For this shoot, alongside my duties as a Los Angeles production designer, I was also in charge of the fashion/wardrobe styling and design of the costumes, as well as the set direction. Since each of the characters are from different parts of the world, I needed to ensure the set and costume designs for each character were appropriately placed in order to represent their stories in the best way possible. My experience in each of these departments, along with my ability to effectively multi-task, served as a key component to communicating with the clients and producers in the best way possible. For example, we transformed an empty office space into a child’s bedroom. This was no easy task, but we managed to pull it off in a short amount of time.

Despite the hefty load of responsibilities, I thoroughly enjoyed working with Ox Creates and Justin Bell Productions. They gave me the opportunity to channel my skills, ideas, and creativity in order to help bring Awana’s vision to life. OX Creative is a visual content and brand strategy firm that uses their platform to connect up-and-coming talent to global brands that focus on making the world a better place.

Since moving out to Los Angeles in 2017, I have continued displaying my work in commercials and advertisements. I’ve worked alongside many different brands, companies, and organizations such as The Scotch porter, Mattel, Mtailor, North Face, among many others. Now, I can happily add Ox Creates and Justin Bell Productions to the list. I’m very proud of the hard work and dedication that was put into this shoot. If you’re interested, I highly recommend you check out the commercial, which was recently uploaded on YouTube. Go check it out: https://lucabuzas.com/portfolio/awana/

Children’s Wardrobe Stylist | Barbie TV Commercial

Children’s Wardrobe Stylist | Barbie “You can be anything” TV Commercial

Recently I collaborated with Barbie on their “You can be anything” campaign as a children’s wardrobe stylist. With my children’s wardrobe stylist team we had to style 16 children for this TV commercial. Our day started at Mattel studios in Los Angeles, CA where you can find an entire Barbie wardrobe closet full of clothing and fashion accessories. This commercial was produced by STORIES International and directed by Barry Norwood.

For this branded commercial we had to choose very bright and colorful wardrobe options because the concept was based on girls that can become anything they dream to be. It was a very inspirational video where our kids could achieve and empower themselves through their role models. Imagine the possibilities, see what happens when girls are free to imagine, they can be anything. Leading by example for 56 years, Barbie inspires girls to be anything. As a children’s wardrobe stylist in California I love to work with child actors, they are very self driven and talented.

“My whole philosophy with Barbie was that, through the doll, the girl can be anything she wants to be. Barbie has always represented the fact that a woman has choices. “- RUTH HANDLER, BARBIE CREATOR

Adweek wrote an article about our campaign for International Women’s Day, and brands are committing like never before to honoring women everywhere. The Mattel brand unveiled dolls based on women heroes like Amelia Earhart, Frida Kahlo, Katherine Johnson and Chloe Kim. “Barbie is committed to shining a light on empoweringrole models past and present in an effort to inspire more girls,” the brand says.
