Los Angeles COVID-19 Safe Makeup Artist | Aiden Health

As a Los Angeles COVID-19 safe makeup artist, I’ve had the opportunity to work with Aiden Health on a branded shoot in Los Angeles, California. I styled and did hair and make on 2 talents during this branded photo production. The wardrobe direction given by the client and photographer focused on PPE gears. For hair and makeup styles, we decided to go with camera-ready, natural looks.

About Aiden Health: They manufacture PPE products, including masks, gowns, gloves, and sanitizers. Across pricing, product quality, and shipping, they are committed to ensuring you always have the information you need. Aiden Health is led by a team of experts in healthcare, technology, and logistics.

A couple of tips and tricks to keep a safe environment on set:

I purchase cheap disposable brushes that are designated to one actor or model each and, at the end of the shoot, the brushes are thrown out. I want to ensure all of my clients that I take your health and safety seriously.
Sometimes I would ask the talents/models to bring their own brushes
I will be wearing the required PPE gear
Due to the social distancing guidelines, we can not let more than 2 people into the workspace unless we can maintain social distancing
20 seconds of handwashing at a clean and sanitized sink will be required for both of us before we begin the makeup session
I clean and sanitize all equipment used
Hand sanitizer will be ready and available for your entire makeup session

COVID-19 Safe Makeup Artist in Los Angeles | COVID-19 Safety Certifications

As a COVID-19 safe makeup artist in Los Angeles, I completed all the safety certifications including the Safe Sets International and Barbicide courses.

Safe Sets International‘s program is designed to communicate the most current health and safety information relevant to our community of filmmakers, producers, crew, and industry professionals. The materials in these guidelines have been reviewed by medical experts and sourced using reputable, science-driven resources.

Barbicide is a disinfectant solution used by barbers and cosmetologists for disinfecting grooming tools such as combs and hair-cutting shears. Manufactured by King Research, it was invented in 1947 by Maurice King and marketed heavily around the United States by his brother James. Barbicide‘s online program is designed to present the most current information that is pertinent to the Professional Beauty Professional.

With the creative industries experiencing a huge amount of change during this difficult climate, it can be tricky for professionals to understand what it means to be ‘safe’ on set. As a professional makeup artist and hairstylist, my number one priority is to ensure safety on set during Covid-19.

A couple of tips and tricks in prior to the shoot:

I ensure that I have a plan for all talent that will require makeup, this way I know exactly what to bring to set
I communicated with all talents via email and confirmed their hair and makeup looks
Sanitized everything and whenever is possible I placed makeup in sample containers

Male Grooming in Los Angeles | Boomber Records-Zullu Music Video Shoot

I have provided my services as male grooming in Los Angeles for the Boomber Records music video shoot in California. We shot this video for 2 days in Los Angeles and in Palm Springs. Working as a traveling hair and makeup artist I was very excited working on this project.

Boomber Records produces and pushes the musical and artistic creation in all its forms and promotes outside established in the most total independence codes. For its inception, Boomber is publisher and producer of the new band BLACK MOUSES, including graphical design and video clip production. The label is also responsible for the graphic identity of Electronic label Electronical REEDS with whom he produced various remixes.

Zullu is a pop-rock band from Belgium that collaborates with various media artists, to take you into their surprising visual and musical universe.

Our DOP was Richard Kendall, he is a cinematographer and bullet-time imaging specialist, creative, production savvy with a focus on TV commercials. With over 13 years in the News Media, Commercial, Multi-Camera Array systems and Scientific imaging industry. His passionate and empathetic approach to projects has lead to him working on major TV Commercials, Multimedia films, Feature films.

I had an amazing time working with Boomber Records and Richard Kendall as male grooming in Los Angeles, I hope to create a long-lasting relationship with them for the future. I specialize in makeup, grooming, and hairstyling for editorial, fashion, commercial, music videos, and film shoots worldwide.

Key Make-Up Artist in Los Angeles | ANTARCTICA Short Film

As a key make-up artist in Los Angeles, I’ve had the opportunity to work with Xi He, director of his Antarctica short film. I was the lead makeup artist and hair stylist on this project. We were shooting for 5 days in Los Angeles.

Our cinematographer was Laura Jansen. Laura was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in a small suburban town 25 miles south of the city. Much of her free time as an only-child was spent either in front of a television screen or in a movie theater. It was there that she fell in love with film’s ability to completely immerse her in the narrative and take her to a different place entirely.

I love my job as a makeup artist and I love working with a wide range of different looks and styles that my clients request. I get excited about working with directors such as Xi He and cinematographer Laura Jansen. I am always curious as to what I can contribute to these projects. Most of all, I delight in seeing my work used by clients in their social media posts, films, campaigns, and websites. In this short film for our actors, I created natural and camera-ready hair/makeup looks.

I had a great time collaborating with Xi He and his team as a key make-up artist in Los Angeles, I hope to create a long-lasting relationship with him for the future.

As a professional makeup artist in Los Angeles, I collaborated with Drunk Elephant, clean-compatible skincare products made with efficacious levels of ingredients like L-Ascorbic Acid, Glycolic Acid, and Marula Oil.

The brand name Drunk Elephant is rooted in a myth that says the elephants love to eat the fruit that has fallen from Marula trees. Once eaten, fermentation occurs inside their very large tummies and the elephants become drunk! Virgin Marula oil, straight from the “pip”, can be found throughout the Drunk Elephant line. It is an oil that Masterson believes is superior to ANY she’s tried due to the high content of fatty acids and antioxidants.

Thankfully with many years of experience, I have my makeup kit fully equipped for every project. With the support of the Drunk Elephant, I can have my skincare products fully stocked. Their products are amazing, I love to use them on my shoots. Professional advertising makeup artist in Los Angeles. I’m a freelance makeup artist and hairstylist with more than 8 years in the industry. I’m a mobile makeup artist based in LA. Available for commercial, advertising, fashion, red carpet, event makeup, bridal/wedding makeup, and any and all media. I also provide wardrobe-fashion styling services for commercials and fashion shoots.

We shot these portrait pictures in Rémy‘s studio in West Hollywood. Rémy is a self-taught photographer who has always had a fascination for people. Born and raised in the suburb of Paris, he moved to Los Angeles in 2016. He is one of those photographers with a humanist approach and he privileges the soul and the personality.

In the Los Angeles entertainment industry, Film and TV might be one of the hardest makeup to create since you’re trying your hardest to make the subject look natural but using products that are HD friendly and full coverage. As a makeup/hair combo in Los Angeles, I collaborated with Mariah Morgenstern on a music video production for the Alessia Cara – Trust My Lonely project. Huffmann Creative produced the content of this video, they are a video production company based in LA. They work on everything short form, from music videos to documentaries.

Mariah Morgenstern is a graduate from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Film and a minor in Mass Communications. She has had the opportunity to produce content artists such as Alessia Cara, Mansionair, and Pop Evil. Her understanding of the business side of filmmaking has only sharpened her tool belt in the creative world as a director. She is a believer in keeping the cinema alive, driven by her passion to get audience members out of their house and into the theater.

Makeup Artist Los Angeles | The Ceremony Short Film

As a makeup artist Los Angeles, I’ve had the opportunity to work with Addie Doyle and Lee Hurst on their “The Ceremony” short film. I was the key makeup artist and hairstylist on this project.

Addie Doyle is an LA-based actress and filmmaker whose work has been featured at Chelsea Film Festival, New York Short Film Festival, Independent Shorts Festival, and jellyFest. She spent her youth performing in a dance company in Boston, and now acts, sings, writes, and produces in Los Angeles. She graduated with honors from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Lee Hurst is a New York-based actor, writer, and comedian, a seen on @comedycentral @elitedaily @refinery29 and on @galore. She is the winner of the JD Power Award for the last three years in a row as well.

About “The Ceremony”: A dinner party between the two leaders of a cult goes awry as they talk about power and the direction of their cult. It will screen in 2021. As an LA-based makeup artist, I created an old Hollywood hair and makeup look for the actresses during this 3 overnight short film production.
