Los Angeles COVID-19 Safe Makeup Artist | Aiden Health

Los Angeles COVID-19 Safe Makeup Artist | Aiden Health

As a Los Angeles COVID-19 safe makeup artist, I’ve had the opportunity to work with Aiden Health on a branded shoot in Los Angeles, California. I styled and did hair and make on 2 talents during this branded photo production. The wardrobe direction given by the client and photographer focused on PPE gears. For hair and makeup styles, we decided to go with camera-ready, natural looks.

About Aiden Health: They manufacture PPE products, including masks, gowns, gloves, and sanitizers. Across pricing, product quality, and shipping, they are committed to ensuring you always have the information you need. Aiden Health is led by a team of experts in healthcare, technology, and logistics.

A couple of tips and tricks to keep a safe environment on set:

  • I purchase cheap disposable brushes that are designated to one actor or model each and, at the end of the shoot, the brushes are thrown out. I want to ensure all of my clients that I take your health and safety seriously.
  • Sometimes I would ask the talents/models to bring their own brushes
  • I will be wearing the required PPE gear
  • Due to the social distancing guidelines, we can not let more than 2 people into the workspace unless we can maintain social distancing
  • 20 seconds of handwashing at a clean and sanitized sink will be required for both of us before we begin the makeup session
  • I clean and sanitize all equipment used
  • Hand sanitizer will be ready and available for your entire makeup session

I had an amazing time collaborating with Aiden Health as a Los Angeles makeup artist, I hope to create a long-lasting relationship with them for the future.

COVID-19 Safe Makeup Artist in Los Angeles | COVID-19 Safety Certifications

COVID-19 Safe Makeup Artist in Los Angeles | COVID-19 Safety Certifications

As a COVID-19 safe makeup artist in Los Angeles, I completed all the safety certifications including the Safe Sets International and Barbicide courses.

Safe Sets International‘s program is designed to communicate the most current health and safety information relevant to our community of filmmakers, producers, crew, and industry professionals. The materials in these guidelines have been reviewed by medical experts and sourced using reputable, science-driven resources.

Barbicide is a disinfectant solution used by barbers and cosmetologists for disinfecting grooming tools such as combs and hair-cutting shears. Manufactured by King Research, it was invented in 1947 by Maurice King and marketed heavily around the United States by his brother James. Barbicide‘s online program is designed to present the most current information that is pertinent to the Professional Beauty Professional.

With the creative industries experiencing a huge amount of change during this difficult climate, it can be tricky for professionals to understand what it means to be ‘safe’ on set. As a professional makeup artist and hairstylist, my number one priority is to ensure safety on set during Covid-19.

A couple of tips and tricks in prior to the shoot:

  • I ensure that I have a plan for all talent that will require makeup, this way I know exactly what to bring to set
  • I communicated with all talents via email and confirmed their hair and makeup looks
  • Sanitized everything and whenever is possible I placed makeup in sample containers

I had a wonderful time accomplishing Safe Sets International and Barbicide online courses, as a COVID-19 safe makeup artist in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Commercial Makeup Artist | Collaboration with Supergoop!

Los Angeles Commercial Makeup Artist | Collaboration with Supergoop!

As a Los Angeles commercial makeup artist, I collaborated with Supergoop!, a prestigious skincare brand 100% dedicated to suncare, making it easy to incorporate UV protection into your daily routine.

About Supergoop!: The Best of Beauty-winning Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40, a clear, primer-like sunscreen with an oil-free, completely invisible, scentless, and lightweight formulation. It dries down clear, making it suitable for all skin types and complexions. The product is paraben, sulfate, and phthalate-free as well as cruelty-free.

Everybody that has done a shoot on location knows that it’s a whole different beast compared to filming in the controlled environment of sound stages. For example, you have to battle the weather elements such as the sun.

MY SUNCARE TIPS ON SHOOTS:

1) Apply natural sun cream, Supergoop! products are perfect for the hot summer days.

2) Don’t forget about the lips. Whilst we all know you have to apply sun cream to your face and body, what many people often forget is to protect our lips too.

3) Cover up your in style and hide from the sun peak times if possible.

Thankfully with many years of experience, I have my makeup kit fully equipped for every project. With the support of Supergoop!, I can have my skincare and sun care products fully stocked. Their products are great, I love to use them!

I had a wonderful time collaborating with Supergoop!, as a commercial makeup artist, I hope to create a long-lasting relationship with him for the future. Working with excellent suncare brand such as Supergoop! is truly improved my abilities to provide the best for my clients.

Commercial Hair Stylist in Los Angeles | IGK Collaboration

Commercial Hair Stylist in Los Angeles | IGK Collaboration

As a commercial hair stylist in Los Angeles, I collaborated with IGK, an innovative, styling product brand for the modern generation.

About IGK: They’re a team of four innovative stylists from various parts of the globe and vastly different backgrounds unified in a single vision: to create products designed to fit the lives and needs of the client and hairstylist. By focusing on the needs of their clients, they block out the noise and deliver exactly what their look demands — easy solutions, the most current looks and cuts with multiple styling options.

I always love to try new products, IGK sent me various amazing texture/volumizing sprays, dry shampoo, hair masks, and conditioners.

They work in NYC+LA+MIA, plus pop-up salons in culture capitals throughout the world. Every formula they create is inspired by the stylist, his signature city, and the nuances of what’s trending in that space and time.

As a Los Angeles key hairstylist, I’m in charge of the entire hair department, and I report directly to the production team and clients. Usually, I execute the hair styling for one or two principal actors or models. Working as the key hair stylist on commercials/films/television or fashion shoots requires working in a sanitized, organized, and professional hair and makeup room/trailer. As a film hairstylist, I’m in charge of creating character hairstyle designs and styling actors’ hair on set. Being a hairstylist I work on the film, television, and commercial shoots.

I had an excellent time collaborating with IGK as a commercial hair stylist in LA, I hope to create a long-lasting relationship with him for the future.

Freelance Makeup Artist in Los Angeles | Partnership with Dr. Dennis Gross

Freelance Makeup Artist in Los Angeles | Partnership with Dr. Dennis Gross

As a freelance makeup artist in Los Angeles, California, I collaborated with Dr. Dennis Gross, a personally formulated cruelty-free skincare brand which is using science & nature for clear, glowing skin, targeting lines, wrinkles, firmness, and dry skin.

Dennis Gross, M.D., is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon who has been in practice for 25 years. Creator of award-winning Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare™, inspired by the skincare concerns of patients at his NYC practice. PETA appreciated and recognized Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare’s commitment to remaining cruelty-free.

The brand has sent me their amazing Dr. Dennis Gross Extra Strength Alpha Beta Peel product. The peels contain both alpha and beta hydroxy acids which gently exfoliate the skin and, according to Dr. Dennis Gross, “weaken the connection between dead skin cells.” This helps to accelerate the shedding process and remove bacteria and buildup, keeping dead skin cells from getting trapped in your pores. I enjoy using this peel product on my shoots since it is cleaning up beautifully my models/actor’s skin before I apply the makeup.

Thankfully with many years of experience, I have my makeup kit fully equipped for every project. With the support of Dr. Dennis Gross, I can have my skincare products fully stocked. Their products are great, I love to use them on my shoots.

Los Angeles Freelance Makeup Artist | L.A. Easy Dear Velvet Editorial

Los Angeles Freelance Makeup Artist | L.A. Easy Dear Velvet Editorial

As a Los Angeles freelance makeup artist, I’ve had the opportunity to work with fashion model/influencer Brianna Olenslager on an editorial shoot in Los Angeles. The fashion shoot entitled L.A. Easy has been published by Dear Velvet on their online blog.

Being a makeup artist is always exciting for me to create different looks that catch the eye of the internet audience. With makeup alone, you can do so much to get the look and feel you are going for. I always arrive at fashion shoots with a fully equipped kit of high-quality cosmetics in a wide variety of colors. Glowing/natural skin is the ultimate photo-ready secret. In this editorial, I used black eyeliner to bring out the model eyes. A little highlighter on the eyes is a super fun way to add some shine to your look.

Dear Velvet of our shoot: All doe-eyed, with honeyed tresses, Brianna epitomizes the modern spirit of LA: sweet white dresses toughened up with denim, and hoodie and jeans made candy-striped feminine, in front of one of LA’s abundant graffiti backdrops. So Venice Beach, so LA easy.

Dear Velvet is a diary of style, creativity, and wanderlust. We first connected in 2015 with the DV team and since then, they have published several amazing articles about my work.

Film Makeup Artist in Los Angeles | “The Influencers” Santa Monica Webfest

Film Makeup Artist in Los Angeles | “The Influencers” Santa Monica Webfest

As a film makeup artist in Los Angeles, I’ve had the opportunity to work with Katie Burris, director of “The Influencers”, a Comedy Pilot. I was the key makeup artist and hairstylist on this project. We were shooting for 2 days in Los Angeles.

“The Influencers” have been accepted to the Santa Monica Webfest in Los Angeles, California, and are nominated in 3 categories — including Best Ensemble Cast, Best Low Budget Series, and Best Comedy Series. In its inaugural year, Santa Monica Webfest will be showcasing the very best in short-form digital content from around the world. The festival will be taking place in June of 2020 in one of the most picturesque beach communities on the planet.

Being an L.A. film makeup artist, I am responsible for applying makeup to actors and actresses during filming. Makeup artists play an important role in helping the writers and directors tell a story by working closely with the director and production team to bring a story to life. Cameras can accentuate wrinkles, affect skin tone, and magnify skin flaws like scars and acne so I need to make sure my models, actors are camera-ready throughout the day. I touch them up between takes and correcting the distortions caused by the camera lens and lights.

I had a great time collaborating with “The Influencers” team as a film makeup artist in Los Angeles, I hope to create a long-lasting relationship with them for the future.

Los Angeles Freelance Wardrobe Stylist | Amazon Prime Experience FYC Event

Los Angeles Freelance Wardrobe Stylist | Amazon Prime Experience FYC Event

As a Los Angeles freelance wardrobe stylist, I attended on the Amazon Prime Experience FYC event at the Hollywood Athletic Club. Amazon Prime is one of the many companies that has dropped into the world of streaming entertainment, and for a limited time, allowed guests to immerse themselves in some of their most popular shows with ‘The Prime Experience’.

The “Prime Experience FYC” displays and events, which run from April 12 to May 5, focus on promoting the streaming service’s Emmy contenders, including “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and “Homecoming,” and is geared toward Television Academy voters.

Being a wardrobe stylist in Los Angeles, I attend a lot of fashion and film-related events. Watching films, shows during events is a totally different experience. Attending film and fashion-related events are a good way to show your face, network, and be surrounded by the professionals. You have to develop very strong networking skills. As a stylist, you must create a client base, network with designers and industry professionals, and attend numerous industry events.

My clients include celebrities, fashion brands, advertising agencies, production companies, film studios, Hollywood A-listers, musicians, and high-profile clients. Los Angeles Professional Makeup Artist | Partnership with Dark Swan of Denmark

Los Angeles Professional Makeup Artist | Partnership with Dark Swan of Denmark

As a Los Angeles professional makeup artist, I collaborated with Dark Swan Of Denmark, a luxurious and handmade eyelashes company from Denmark. Founded back in 2013, Dark Swan of Denmark was one of Europe’s first brands to create handmade lashes using soft mink fur, silk, and synthetic fibers.

Their first signature collection is the extravagant Luxury Mink Collection, handcrafted with the finest quality of natural mink fur. With their subtle 3D effect, these lashes add volume and length in the most natural way possible. A carefully-curated lash-band follows the delicate curve of your eye, making these lashes easy to apply, comfortable to wear, and fixed in place for all-day effect.

Dark Swan Of Denmark made these feathery, fluttering lashes in all sorts of different shapes, styles, and designs, from natural-looking daytime lashes to dramatic evening wear – but most importantly, they made them comfortable and easy to apply.

I’ve received their most extravagant collection of eyelashes, including their Luxury Mink, Soft Silk collection of lashes as well as their feather individuals. As a makeup artist, I love to build up my own fake eyelashes so I can control the volume of each falsies. The package came beautifully wrapped in the brand’s original Dark Swan Of Denmark bag.

I had a wonderful time collaborating with Dark Swan Of Denmark, as a professional makeup artist, I hope to create a long-lasting relationship with them for the future. With the support of Dark Swan Of Denmark, I can have my kit products fully stocked. Their eyelashes are truly amazing, I love to use them on my shoots.
