Key Makeup Artist in Los Angeles | Kerrits Photoshoot

As a key makeup artist in Los Angeles, I had the luck of working with Kerrits on a 1-day photoshoot production in Twin Peaks, CA. I did hair and makeup on the models during this video production. The hair and makeup direction given by the client was camera ready. We wanted to capture the models natural beauty.

Kerrits is an American lifestyle apparel line. Their mission is to thoughtfully design and responsibly create clothes that let women unbridle their personal style and their power to help horses. They opt for materials and processes that are kind to people and the planet. Then, they donate 1% of proceeds to support equine causes. Their styles help you look and feel your best on an adventure or in the office. Curated pieces made from extraordinarily comfortable, responsibly sourced fabrics become a feel-good wardrobe that outlasts trends and seasons.

When I’m shooting outside, especially when it’s sunny out, the model’s faces are more likely to show up washed out in the pictures. To keep this from happening, I make sure to choose a lip color that is a little brighter/bolder than what I’d normally use on an indoor shoot. Along with blush and lip color, I also frame the model’s faces with bronzer. Doing this will bring a lot more color and warmth to their faces, while simultaneously enhancing all of their best features at the center of their face.

I had a wonderful time working with Kerrits as a key makeup artist, I hope to create a long-lasting relationship with them in the future.

Los Angeles Makeup Artist | Tiffany & Co. Commercial

As a Los Angeles makeup artist, I had the luck of working with Tiffany and Co. on a commercial shoot. I did hair and makeup on our model, STOWE during this video production. The hair and makeup direction given by the client and director was very straight forward. We wanted to capture STOWE‘s natural beauty. STOWE is currently signed with Otto Models. We were shooting for 1 day at the Tiffany and Co. store on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, California.

During this commercial production our director was Sonia Meg, she is a freelance director, as well as, producer, editor, and photographer. She is an LA-based, Iranian born, Armenian director. Taking inspiration from my diverse roots she strives to tell stories that connect to a larger audience. LALA Cinema is Sonia Meg‘s commercial production company.

Otto Models is a boutique modeling agency representing an International board of male and female models in California, with special emphasis in Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego. Otto Models negotiates contracts for work on major campaigns, print shoots, runway, editorial, music videos, commercials and films.

Tiffany and Co. is an American luxury jewelry and specialty retailer headquartered in NYC. It sells jewelry, china, sterling silver, crystal, stationery, fragrances, watches, personal accessories, and leather goods. Tiffany is known for its luxury goods, particularly its sterling silver jewelry and diamond. It markets itself as an arbiter of taste and style.

I had a wonderful time working with Tiffany and Co., Sonia Meg and STOWE as a Los Angeles makeup artist, I hope to create a long-lasting relationship with them in the future.

Celebrity Makeup Artist in Los Angeles | Filming with Thomas Dutronc

As a celebrity makeup artist in Los Angeles, I had the luck of working with Thomas Dutronc, he is a French singer and jazz guitarist. His mother is the singer, songwriter, guitarist Françoise Hardy; his father the singer, songwriter, guitarist, and film actor Jacques Dutronc. Thomas is a well-known musician around the world.

Thomas Dutronc is signed with Believe Music. Believe Music is a Paris-based company that helps “artists build audiences and careers” through its focus on music technology and services, including worldwide digital distribution.

I did hair and make on a few musicians, including Thomas Dutronc during this video and photo production. The HMU direction given by the client and director was camera-ready. We were shooting for 2 days at the Capitol Records studio in Hollywood, California.

Capitol Records is an American record label owned by Universal Music Group through its Capitol Music Group imprint. It was founded as the first west coast-based record label of note in the United States in 1942 by Johnny Mercer, Buddy DeSylva, and Glenn E. Wallichs.

My favorite part about being a celebrity makeup artist is being able to set my own schedule. In my job, I meet plenty of awesome, fun, and interesting people. Thankfully I have the luxury of traveling a lot with my jobs as well.

I had a wonderful time working with Thomas Dutronc and Believe Music as a celebrity makeup artist in Los Angeles, I hope to create a long-lasting relationship with them in the future. My days are full of creative collaboration and intense teamwork. I am blessed to work with the best industry professionals.

Lifestyle Video Makeup Artist | Gardenhouse Beverly Hills Real Estate Video Shoot

As a lifestyle video makeup artist, I had the luck of working with Gardenhouse and Wicked+ team on a lifestyle video shoot in Beverly Hills, CA. I had 1 female and 1 male model to do camera-ready hair and makeup for during this production.

About Gardenhouse: Gardenhouse reimagines the modern lifestyle of Beverly Hills with expertly designed homes. These 2-story, 3-bedroom penthouses feature high-ceilings and expansive views of the city. The first project in the United States from world-renowned MAD Architects.

Wicked+ is a full-service branding, marketing, public relations, and design firm based in Hermosa Beach, California. They specialize in designing market-defining brands and crafting highly-personalized PR, social, and advertising campaigns that are focused on lifestyle, brand storytelling, and consumer engagement.

I love my job as a Los Angeles makeup artist and I love working with a wide range of different looks and styles that my clients request. I get excited about working with agencies such as Wicked+. I am always curious as to what I can contribute to these projects. Most of all, I delight in seeing my work used by clients in their social media posts, campaigns, and websites. In this lifestyle branded video for our models, I created natural and camera-ready hair/makeup looks.

Working as a hair/makeup combo on branded videos allows me the freedom of creating a full glam look for the artists, models, and actors. Onset in Los Angeles, we always run into unexpected situations so it is very important to be on top of your task.

A film hairstylist is a person in charge of creating character hairstyle designs and styling actors’ hair on set. Film hairstylists work in both film and television and are an integral part of the entertainment industry.

The job of a leading Hollywood hairstylist starts in pre-production, by creating and designing the hairstyles for the film. The key hairstylist, the person in charge of the hair department, works with the director, production designer, and key makeup artist to create original designs that fit into the overall visual pastiche of the film.

As a key hairstylist, I oversee the hair department and delegates responsibilities to individual hairstylists. The duties of other stylists in the hair department include:

Work with the key hairstylist to learn all hair designs prior to shooting.
Style the actors’ hair on shoot days.
Ensure that no products, wigs, or prosthetic caps damage the actors’ natural hair or skin.
Provide hair care or skincare tips that may help the actors during a shoot.
Maintain all wigs in the hair and makeup trailer.

Mobile Makeup Artist Los Angeles | Old Hollywood Beauty

As a mobile makeup artist Los Angeles, Emmanuel Guillermo photographer hired me and model Jenna Curtis for an old Hollywood beauty inspired photoshoot in Los Angeles, California.

Jenna Curtis is an Austrian actress, singer, and model. She grew up in the capital music city of Vienna, where she was trained in Acting and Musical Theatre. In 2013 Jenna moved to Los Angeles, California which has been her home base ever since. Before Jenna became a singing actress, she was traveling Europe as a model, while working on original Indie-Pop music.

I created an old Hollywood glamour hair and makeup look for Jenna Curtis.Old Hollywood makeup consisting of a killer cat eye, lightly blushed cheeks and, of course, a bright red lip. It’s the perfect go-to look for anyone who wants to look polished but perhaps isn’t too keen on trying a more daring beauty trend of the moment, I absolutely love creating this look for my clients.

Old Hollywood glamour hair and makeup is dramatic but not over-done. This style is to make you look your best and it involves full foundation coverage, accentuated contours, blush, and so on. To create an old Hollywood style evening look, you need to style your wardrobe as well, the best is to choose a floor-length gown of satin or velvet.

It was a pleasure to work with Emmanuel Guillermo and Jenna Curtis on this project and hope to work with them again on another production as a mobile makeup artist.

As a Los Angeles hair and makeup artist, Mathieu Jacobs photographer hired me and model Marlowe Daly for a lifestyle, fashion photoshoot in Los Angeles, California. Mathieu reached out to me directly and he was planning to organize multiple photoshoots across Los Angeles.

Established in 2012, Genetic strives to scout, develop, and represent the most preeminent talent in the industry. Our diverse team holds experiences across the fashion & art industries, providing our models and clients with outstanding and innovative service.

Mathieu Jacobs is an internationally published fashion and lifestyle photographer after he spent twenty years in Paris he felt that his place was no longer there so he decided to keep the essential and look for the best places on our planet.

As a hair and makeup artist, I created for Marlowe a natural beauty look. Barely-there, au naturel makeup will never go out of fashion.

Natural Looking Makeup Tips:

Moisturize and always start with a primer. It fills in fine lines and fades imperfections. Creating a perfect base for your makeup is very important, the camera lens can often magnify
Conceal
Powder or light foundation
Subtle blush
Neutral shadows
Nude lip
Little mascara
No liner

Los Angeles Makeup Artist | Jimmy Choo x YK Jeong Behind the Scenes

I was involved in the project as a Los Angeles makeup artist. Columbia Tatone has produced a brand video production for our Jimmy Choo x YK Jeong fashion commercial / high fashion photoshoot. In this blog post, I would like to showcase the behind the scenes of this project for the debut of Jimmy Choo x YK Jeong collection which took place in a huge studio located in Los Angeles, California. Jimmy Choo’s Creative Director, Sandra Choi has collaborated with renowned Korean celebrity stylist YK Jeong on a limited-edition collection of shoes.

Columbia Tatone is an American film director, writer, producer and photographer. Known for her dynamic cinematic action and relational, relevant storytelling, she often features unique elements of sci-fi in her work.

One of our model talent for this brand video production was Amanda Lynn Steele who is originally from the US, she is a video blogger, model, and actress. Our beautiful talent has incredible charisma and her experience over 15 years in the industry shined on camera . Her background as an actress gives her the ability be aware of her movements and balance for camera. She started her YouTube channel, MakeupByMandy24, in 2010. Steele is known for her beauty and fashion-related content. She signed to IMG Models in early 2016. In 2015. I had a great time working with Amanda Lynn Steele and Jimmy Choo‘s team as a Los Angeles makeup artist and hope to create a lasting business relationship with them for the future.

This huge studio is the perfect location for a high fashion video and photo production. Our production design team created different shapes and sizes of backdrops which are all a part of the incredible aesthetic. The lighting team made sure the neon lighting was on point throughout the shoot.

Celebrity Makeup Artist Los Angeles | Creative Artists Agency Event

As a celebrity makeup artist Los Angeles, I got asked by one of my best friends to do her CAA event the Golden Globe Awards hair and makeup look. I created a classic black smokey eye makeup look. This iconic makeup style looks good on everyone and is universally flattering.

Being a celebrity makeup artist Los Angeles, I advise these 3 things to know before starting your smokey eye:

The key is to always keep the darkest point at the lash line. It keeps the makeup really modern and fresh, and ensures you are drawing more attention to the eye vs. the makeup.
Stick to no more than 3 shadows and a liner to pop your eyes. Keep it simple!
Brushes are super important to get that blend. Blend is your friend. When it comes to a smokey eye, it doesn’t matter how dark you go, or what colours you use, it’s how well you can blend the liner and shadow.

Los Angeles Beauty Makeup Artist | Face Genius Commercial

Being a Los Angeles beauty makeup artist, I mostly work on fashion shoots, commercials, and branded videos. I got a chance a couple of months ago to work with Anarchy production company for a Face Genius commercial spot. Anarchy production was contacted by Face Genius to produce several social media videos.

I styled and did hair and make on 3 talents during this commercial production. The wardrobe direction given from the client and director was casual so I brought many options from H&M and Uniqlo stores. For hair and makeup styles, we decided to go with camera-ready, natural looks.
