Atlanta Makeup Artist | Travel Tips for Hair and Makeup Artists

As an Atlanta makeup artist, I love to travel for work. My job as a makeup artist isn’t a stationary one. I enjoy to go to a new space as my “office”, then pack up and have a different location the next day. Thankfully, I learned this early on in my career and always had my sights on traveling for my work.

Traveling, also means transporting your makeup, I always follow these tips:

1) Think Before You Pack – Brainstorming before you pack will save you a lot of time and ensure that you bring just what you need – say goodbye to over (or under) packing! Consider these three things when you’re deciding what to pack: who your agency/production company/client is, what kind of makeup they’re requesting, and what environment you’ll be working in.

2) Create an Inventory List – Once you decide what you’re bringing with you, take an inventory.

3) Purchase Insurance if you can – Insuring your kit is a great way to put your mind at ease and make sure you’re covered from any accident

4) Check-in or Carry on your makeup bag(s) – For many hair and makeup artists, checking their bag is not an option so you will need to separate your kit what you can carry on and needs to be checked in with the airline.

Being an Atlanta makeup artist, working in exotic places also allows me to research, purchase, and try different beauty lines. It is a creative playground for an artist like myself to be up close and personal with such textures and colors of different landscapes, people, and places.

Makeup/Hair Combo in Los Angeles | Alessia Cara – Trust My Lonely Music Video

As a makeup/hair combo in Los Angeles, I collaborated with Mariah Morgenstern on a music video production for the Alessia Cara – Trust My Lonely project. Huffmann Creative produced the content of this video, they are a video production company based in LA. They work on everything short form, from music videos to documentaries.

Mariah Morgenstern is a graduate from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Film and a minor in Mass Communications. She has had the opportunity to produce content artists such as Alessia Cara, Mansionair, and Pop Evil. Her understanding of the business side of filmmaking has only sharpened her tool belt in the creative world as a director. She is a believer in keeping the cinema alive, driven by her passion to get audience members out of their house and into the theater.

I love my job as a makeup/hair combo in Los Angeles and I enjoy working with a wide range of different looks and styles that my clients request. As a Los Angeles makeup artist, I work a lot on music videos, fashion shoots, commercials, television, and film. Being a hair – makeup combo allows me the freedom of creating a full look for the models and actors.

Los Angeles Hair/Makeup Combo | Disney Maleficent Mistress of Evil Pumpkin Carving

As a Los Angeles hair/makeup combo The Walt Disney Company hired me for their Maleficient mistress of evil pumpkin craving promo video. I had 1 male artist to do camera-ready hair and makeup for.

I love my job as a hairstylist and makeup artist and I enjoy working with a wide range of different looks and styles that my clients request. As a hair/makeup combo and men’s groomer, I mostly work on beauty, fashion, commercials, television, film, and movies.

Working as a hair/makeup combo allows me the freedom of creating a full look for the models and actors. Creativity is an ability to see beyond ordinary, it is to use the mind and the imagination to create alternatives, possibilities, new and original ideas. Onset in Los Angeles, we always run into unexpected situations so on a shoot is very important to be on top of your task.

As a fashion stylist in Los Angeles, I had the luck working with Fitz Frames , a customized glass company for kids. Their staple styles and colors will always be available. Kids can grow with their favorite frames. Parents can relax knowing we won’t discontinue them.

Being a fashion stylist in Los Angeles, I styled 2 moms and 2 kids and selected for them multiple wardrobe looks. I advised them which brands will fit them for this commercial shoot and communicate with the client on fashion trends, clothing styles, colors, and make-up matching to their brand. As a wardrobe stylist in Los Angeles, I love working with kids, they always bring a great energy to the set.

They work with top brands, magazines, and producers globally to build the best freelance creative teams. BLACKBOOK allows production teams to privately manage their freelance rosters, and keep visual records of all past, present, and future projects.

Luckily, I got selected to be in Stylindex‘s roster, they are very particular of their talents, they aim is to help everyone streamline their business so they can focus on what they do best: MAKING BEAUTIFUL WORK.

Personal Stylist Los Angeles | FUPIN Group – MRH Sparotica Groupe Collaboration

As a personal stylist Los Angeles, I had the luck to work with Fupin Group – MRH Sarotica Groupe, MRH SpaRotica Groupé curates an exceptional array of evocative premium fashion brands with longterm survivability that transcends global fashion trends.

We worked with 2 international models from ESEE Model Management. Founded in 2002, ESEE model management is the leading professional model agency in China. ESEE represents a diverse collection of Chinese and foreign models across Asia.

Being a personal stylist, I styled these 2 models and selected for them countless wardrobe looks. I advised them which brands will fit them and communicated with Fupin Group on new fashion trends, clothing styles, colors, and make-up.

Depending on how I’m getting hired by the client, a personal stylist job is not to be confused with a wardrobe stylist job. When I select the clothing for published editorial features, print or television advertising campaigns, music videos, concert performances, and public appearances made by celebrities and models. As a personal stylist, I typically work one-on-one with the client, while when I’m doing wardrobe styling I’m often part of a larger creative team collaborating with a brand, photographer, art director and a video production team to put together a particular look or theme for the specific project.

Los Angeles Fashion Stylist | Alitrip Commercial Spot

As a Los Angeles fashion stylist, I had the luck to work with Alitrip. Alibaba is China’s and by some measures, the world’s biggest online commerce company. Its three main sites: Taobao, Tmall, and Alibaba.com. They have hundreds of millions of users and host millions of merchants and businesses. Alibaba handles more business than any other e-commerce company.

I styled 1 model through multiple wardrobe changes during this video campaign production. The wardrobe direction given from the client and director was casual and lifestyle so I brought many options from ZARA, H&M and Forever21 stores.

Alitrip is dedicated to building the Chinese largest Online-Travel-Service platform. In 2014 they served over 50 million Chinese travelers. As an international component of Alitrip, Alitrip Global provides a cross-border platform for foreign excellent travel agencies to access Chinese outbound travelers.

Deadalum Films hired me directly as a Los Angeles fashion stylist. Founded in 2006, Daedalum Films is a video production company registered in mainland China and Hong Kong, headquartered in Shanghai. They work around the world on projects of all sizes and genres, for clients across all industries. They offer a full range of services from creative concept through post-production of a final video.

I had a wonderful time working with Alitrip and Deadalum Films as a fashion stylist and hope to create a lasting business relationship with them for the future.

Activewear Fashion Stylist | Nurture Digital x NASM Zumba Shoot

As an activewear fashion stylist in Los Angeles, I had the luck to work with Nurture Digital, a creative content agency. Nurture is an ad agency that creates and promotes online video campaigns for brands big and small. NASM is partnering with ZUMBA to extend its network that will explore what it means to be a team.

Nurture Digital hired me for the activewear fashion stylist position on this shoot. Their team produced this 4 days commercial shoot. Nurture is a first-class digital agency. They always exceed expectations when it comes to the final product and are always on time hitting deadlines, no matter how short the turnaround time might be. It was very exciting to collaborate with Nurture Digital on this NASM advertising campaign. I had a couple of days pre-production work to select and prepare all of the talents outfits for the shoot days. I worked in conjunction with the agency and video team to organize the shot list and decide how any outfit changes talents needed in order to capture the concept the client required.

About NASM: Now in their 30th year, the National Academy of Sports Medicine has been world-renowned for the quality of their personal trainers and the scientific rigor of their program. NASM offers a Certified Personal Training program, with 4 learning packages available. And NASM specializations can take your personal training skills to a whole new level.

NASM and ZUMBA Fitness are collaborating on different personal trainer programs. ZUMBA is pretty much the most awesome workout ever. Dance to great music, with great people, and burn a ton of calories without even realizing it.

Wardrobe Stylist in Los Angeles | IKARIA Resort Wear Behind the Scenes

As a wardrobe stylist in Los Angeles, I got hired by Tiger House Films production company to work on an international resort wear photo + video campaign. We worked on this shoot for 1 day in Palm Springs, California. I love to work with fashion brands that have high-end taste in their work and ad materials.

We worked with the beautiful Brazilian model Barbara Fialho, who is best known for being associated with Victoria’s Secret for many years. She is a Brazilian fashion model. She was born in the city of Montes Claros, Minas Gerais and started her modeling career at the age of 15. Barbara has graced renowned fashion weeks. She has worked with some of the most prestigious designers, photographers and publications in fashion.

The owner of Ikaria Resort Wear had a clear vision of what she wanted to express with this collection so I had to follow the guidelines and as a wardrobe stylist in Los Angeles, I had to make sure that we capture every single piece of dresses in this spring-summer collection. Since we were shooting in conjunction with photo and video we kept our schedule very tight to capture everything. This collection was inspired by the old Hollywood glamour with a Cuban flair that can be felt throughout the ethereal luxe 100% Silk 20-piece collection, designed to effortlessly transition from beach to dinner to the red carpet.

I had a great time working with Ikaria Resort Wear and Tiger House Films team as a wardrobe stylist and hope to create a lasting business relationship with them for the future.

As a Los Angeles personal stylist, I got hired by Deloitte Digital company to work on a Nike Personal Styling Experience video campaign. We worked on this shoot for 1 day in Los Angeles, California. During this Nike shoot, I styled 1 talent throughout multiple wardrobe changes, all the clothes were provided by the client.
