Traveling Sport Stylist | Retro Reverse Adidas NHL Jersey Fashion Show

Traveling Sport Stylist | Retro Reverse Adidas NHL Jersey Fashion Show

As a traveling sport stylist, I had the luck of working with Adidas and NHL on a Retro Reverse fashion show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Everything old is new with the Adidas Reverse Retro alternate jerseys, a play on all 31 NHL teams’ throwback jerseys with modern twists. This marks the first time every NHL team is included in an alternate jersey rollout, and the collection is a colorful mix of primary and secondary logos, old school and new school striping, and reimagined classics.

As a traveling sport stylist, I was assigned to work on fourteen models, and my goal was to create the perfect looks for each of them so they would look great in the NHL hockey jerseys on the fashion show.

One of the things I love about my job is that it teaches me how to be flexible. Traveling for a job is a prime example of this. I love planning what to bring and checking what I need ahead of the fashion show so that I can come to the location ready to take on the task.

Each jersey was inspired by one worn by the team during a season with some historical significance; the entire design process took about two years. Teams will wear the jerseys multiple times this season, including designated rivalry games.

I had a wonderful time collaborating with Adidas and NHL as a stylist in Las Vegas, I hope to create a long-lasting relationship with them in the future.

Los Angeles Television Wardrobe Stylist | Sugar Lady TV Commercial

Los Angeles Television Wardrobe Stylist | Sugar Lady TV Commercial

As a Los Angeles television wardrobe stylist, I principally work on TV commercials. while I lived in Shanghai, China I was hired by Fred and Farid, an international independent advertising agency to work on a project with one of their clients, Sugar Lady, on their next commercial. Moreover, the production company asked me to bring on board, a hair and makeup team for this commercial.

In this commercial, I took care of the direction we were going regarding the appearance for wardrobe and hair-makeup. The style was very elegant and minimal, I used only monochrome colors for accessories and I selected very large brim hats to keep our model mysterious. In fashion terms, hats are a very noticeable accessory because the onlooker’s attention is first drawn to the face. For this reason, I made sure the costumer’s first attention would be drawn to Sugar Lady’s newest collection.

For styling, the key things you need are creativity, communication skills, and good teamwork. With luxury brands, these things are very important as a result of the clients have really refined taste. There are some inherent and learned qualities that build a successful fashion stylist.

As a wardrobe stylist agency in Los Angeles, you need to have several wardrobes and fashion stylists in your roster to recommend for specific projects. You can represent stylists in each category, for example, luxury, sport, beauty, and fashion.

Sugar Lady has been a ladies’ fashion brand for over 30 years. Sugar Lady is a luxury brand or prestige brand for which a majority of its products are luxury fashion clothes and accessories.

Los Angeles Wardrobe Stylist | MTailor TV Commercial

Los Angeles Wardrobe Stylist | MTailor TV Commercial

Recently I was called in by Aris production house to collaborate on an MTailor branded TV commercial shoot. As a Los Angeles wardrobe stylist,  I was hired onto this commercial production as the key wardrobe stylist.

There were 4 actors to style and to make sure their outfits fit perfectly on camera, the director and I collaborated heavily on the concept and mood of the shoot. This TV commercial was shot in 1 day on a location where an airplane was built, dressed and used as set design.

Commercials and branded videos have always been a challenge because the pressure and requirements are very high for demanding brands. As a Los Angeles wardrobe stylist the standards of the industry require that I am extremely detailed and on my game at all times.

MTailor is a custom clothing company that exclusively uses a smartphone app which takes your measurements to create custom shirts, trousers, and suits. The concept of this company is to design perfect fitting custom clothing so this made my job easier, not having to fit each actor (it was already done for me!). All their shirts, suits, jeans, chinos, and tees are made of very high quality materials, the seams are neat and even, the fabric feels durable, and all of the buttons are securely attached.

Styling is one of the most important elements of any fashion brand campaign. It governs how your clothes look in your store and helps to ensure they stand out amongst the sea of similar brands on the market. Every adult male should own a suit—just pay attention to the shade you’ve got.

From Miles, the founder of MTailor:

“At MTailor, we are bringing professional quality custom shirts into the modern era. We make it easy, convenient and fast while maintaining an amazing fit and quality shirts.
