Celebrity Makeup Artist Los Angeles | Creative Artists Agency Event

Celebrity Makeup Artist Los Angeles | Creative Artists Agency Event

As a celebrity makeup artist Los Angeles, I got asked by one of my best friends to do her CAA event the Golden Globe Awards hair and makeup look. I created a classic black smokey eye makeup look. This iconic makeup style looks good on everyone and is universally flattering.

Being a celebrity makeup artist Los Angeles, I advise these 3 things to know before starting your smokey eye:
  • The key is to always keep the darkest point at the lash line. It keeps the makeup really modern and fresh, and ensures you are drawing more attention to the eye vs. the makeup.
  • Stick to no more than 3 shadows and a liner to pop your eyes. Keep it simple!
  • Brushes are super important to get that blend. Blend is your friend. When it comes to a smokey eye, it doesn’t matter how dark you go, or what colours you use, it’s how well you can blend the liner and shadow.

The Golden Globe Awards are accolades bestowed by the 93 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association beginning in January 1944, recognizing excellence in film, both American and International, and American television.

Los Angeles Hair and Makeup Artist | Saddleback Shoot with OX Creates

Los Angeles Hair and Makeup Artist | Saddleback Shoot with OX Creates

As a Los Angeles hair and makeup artist, I often travel for work. During this project, I collaborated with OX Creates and Justin Bell Productions. This spot for the OX Creates, was shot over 2 days in Orange County, California with a stellar Justin Bell Productions commercial production team.

For this shoot, alongside my duties as a Los Angeles key makeup artist, I was also in charge of the hairstyling as well. Since each of the characters in this brand video are from the 1980s, I needed to ensure the hair and makeup looks for each character were appropriately created in order to represent their stories in the best way possible.

Justin Bell is a feature film, TV, commercial, and new media producer based in Los Angeles. Currently, he’s in post-production on a 1970’s style superhero heist movie – The Hyperions, starring Cary Elwes. In addition to narrative film and TV, Bell specializes in producing commercials and content for non-profit organizations.

OX Creative is a full-service creative agency, partnering with select clients worldwide. They specialize in developing integrated campaigns that combine film, digital, print, and social, built on a winning strategy, and executed to the highest standard of excellence.

It was a pleasure to work with OX Creative and Justin Bell Productions on this project and hope to work with them again on another production as a Los Angeles hair and makeup artist.

Beauty Makeup Artist | Birdies Campaign Video Makeup Tips

Beauty Makeup Artist | Birdies Campaign Video Makeup Tips

As a Los Angeles beauty makeup artist, I’ve had the opportunity to work with the Tiger House Films production company team on their Birdies slippers campaign video. I was the lead beauty makeup artist, a creative coordinator and wardrobe stylist on this project. We were shooting for 2 days in Los Angeles.

I want to share some of the key practices related to being a makeup artist. Some of these practices have really helped me to become excellent at my job.

  1. Wash your face, tone the skin and apply moisturizer
  2. Apply primer, you can also mix it with your foundation
  3. Conceal dark circles and blemishes
  4. Apply foundation evenly matching to your skin tone
  5. Contour and highlight your face
  6. Choose your eyeshadow palette
  7. Line and define the eyes, use liquid or pencil eyeliner
  8. Use a natural lipstick

The third of our three fashion commercial productions with high-end San Francisco based company Birdies Slippers, this “everyday girl” themed video was shot in Los Angeles with the Tiger House Films commercial production team. Known for being Meghan Markle’s favorite slippers brand, this spot was released in 2019.

I had a great time working with Birdies and Tiger House Films commercial production company as a Los Angeles beauty makeup artist and hope to create a lasting business relationship with them for the future.
