Personal Stylist in Los Angeles | Studio Shoot with Gay Thomas Wilson

Personal Stylist in Los Angeles | Studio Shoot with Gay Thomas Wilson

As a wardrobe stylist in Los Angeles, I’ve had the opportunity to work with Gay Thomas Wilson on her studio shoot in Downtown LA, at Loft 1923. The portrait photographer was Lesley Bohm, her mission in her business is to help leaders make an impact by elevating their brand with the highest quality photos. She is a photographer with years of experience working with clients to bring out their strengths and authenticity in photographs.

On set, wardrobe stylists are responsible for making the outfit look its best for the production. Whether I’m working on a film, a television commercial, a reality show, photoshoot, tv show, or prime time television, as a film wardrobe stylist, I must get the look and feel of the clothing needed for the production that I’m working on.

Gay Thomas Wilson has the unique ability to motivate and inspire; her authenticity compels you to explore more deeply, dream bigger, and reach higher! She is also an actress and producer, known for Boys and Girls (2000), Love Don’t Cost a Thing (2003), and Homicide: Life on the Street (1993).

Gay Thomas Wilson‘s makeup artist on this shoot was Fran Cooper. Fran Cooper is one of LA’s most talented makeup artists who has worked with A-listers and Super Models such as Cindy Crawford, Amber Valetta, Rebecca Romijn, Diane Kruger, and most notably, Janet Jackson. Cooper has been Janet’s personal MUA for the past 5 yrs and is a big fan of Temptu.

I had a wonderful time working with Gay Thomas Wilson and Lesley Bohm as a wardrobe stylist in Los Angeles, I hope to create a long-lasting relationship with them for the future.

Los Angeles Kid’s Stylist | Kidsdream US 2019 SS Collection

Los Angeles Kid’s Stylist | Kidsdream US 2019 SS Collection

I collaborated with Kidsdream US for the third time as a Los Angeles kid’s stylist on their 2019 SS Collection photoshoot in a Downtown LA studio. I had 3 little girls to style and do hair and makeup for. Our theme was easter so we had 6 live bunnies on set. The kids absolutely loved the shoot, they were playing with the bunnies during the shoot.

The kid’s styling and hair makeup were matching to the shoot theme, they were wearing bunny ears and the designs of the dresses were very summery and light. I matched their hair and makeup looks according to the style so I curled their hairs and applied light makeup. When I’m styling kids my number 1 rule is they have to feel natural and comfortable in their looks.

We had pastel color backdrops matching to the dresses and the producer Chewy brought a lot of flowers, balloons, stuffed animals and Easter baskets to set in order to create the 2019SS easter vibes. As a Los Angeles kid’s stylist, I loved working on this set and can’t wait to receive the final images from the brand.

As a Los Angeles stylist in my opinion from the colors to the styles to even the shoes, their dresses really are perfect for those special occasions. They truly have a wonderful selection of gorgeous dresses that are great for all the little princesses out there. In conclusion, I loved working with Kidsdream US and hope we can continue collaborating on upcoming photoshoots in the near future.

TV Commercial Wardrobe Stylist | New York Life Insurance

TV Commercial Wardrobe Stylist I New York Life Insurance

As a TV commercial wardrobe stylist in California, I had the opportunity of working with Tiger House Films commercial production company’s team on New York Life Insurance videos multiple times during this year.

Our theme for this commercial video production was “Celebrating Milestones: Diwali”
Diwali is a Hindu festival of lights, held in the period October to November. It is particularly associated with Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity, and marks the beginning of the fiscal year in India. In total, we had approximately 15 cast members for these 3 videos for the same Diwali theme. All of our cast members were bringing multiple wardrobe choices and I prepared outfit options as well as matching to New York Life Insurance previous advertisements.

A commercial wardrobe stylist is one of the most trending businesses within the fashion and commercial world internationally. What a wardrobe stylist does is pick the clothing and accessories for TV commercials, editorials, print or advertising campaigns and music videos produced by advertising agencies and production companies. This profession is really an essential element in the process of creating advertising campaigns and commercials.

As a TV commercial wardrobe stylist based in Los Angeles, I mostly work on TV commercials, branded videos, and campaigns. I really enjoyed collaborating with the creative team on this New York Life Insurance web commercial.

Kid’s Wardrobe Stylist | KinderJoy China TV Commercial

Kid’s Wardrobe Stylist | KinderJoy China TV Commercial

I collaborated with  ZORBA-Group ad agency as a kid’s wardrobe stylist on their KinderJoy China TV Commercial. ZORBA is a large agency with offices in Paris, Shanghai, and Singapore. The commercial was produced by Studio Supreme.

For this TV commercial I had 2 Chinese families to style including 6 kids. The color palette the client and agency choose was pastel. Pastels are one of the major trends this season and my favorite combinations for advertising shoots. As a kid’s wardrobe stylist, some of the brands I love to work with are ZARA, Uniqlo, Gap and H&M. These fashion brands always carry different styles and fabric options in their latest collections so I can mix and match their wardrobe. Working with kids is always exciting, they bring high energy to the set.

ZORBA-Group mix the world of artists, scientists and technologies to create the crème de la crème of storytelling and brand contents for all medias and audience. ZORBA-Group is a ad agency, a collective, a brand content company or a production company.

The story of the KINDER™ brand begins in 1968 at the heart of a small Italian town named Alba. Michele Ferrero developed KINDER CHOCOLATE and added what would become a famous brand for the Ferrero company, which remains family owned today. Ferrero couldn’t be more proud of its history and is delighted to take the strong foundation of the past and continue to bring KINDER™ into the future.

In conclusion I loved working with KINDER™ and hope we can continue collaborating on upcoming TV commercials in the near future.

Children’s Wardrobe Stylist | Barbie TV Commercial

Children’s Wardrobe Stylist | Barbie “You can be anything” TV Commercial

Recently I collaborated with Barbie on their “You can be anything” campaign as a children’s wardrobe stylist. With my children’s wardrobe stylist team we had to style 16 children for this TV commercial. Our day started at Mattel studios in Los Angeles, CA where you can find an entire Barbie wardrobe closet full of clothing and fashion accessories. This commercial was produced by STORIES International and directed by Barry Norwood.

For this branded commercial we had to choose very bright and colorful wardrobe options because the concept was based on girls that can become anything they dream to be. It was a very inspirational video where our kids could achieve and empower themselves through their role models. Imagine the possibilities, see what happens when girls are free to imagine, they can be anything. Leading by example for 56 years, Barbie inspires girls to be anything. As a children’s wardrobe stylist in California I love to work with child actors, they are very self driven and talented.

“My whole philosophy with Barbie was that, through the doll, the girl can be anything she wants to be. Barbie has always represented the fact that a woman has choices. “- RUTH HANDLER, BARBIE CREATOR

Adweek wrote an article about our campaign for International Women’s Day, and brands are committing like never before to honoring women everywhere. The Mattel brand unveiled dolls based on women heroes like Amelia Earhart, Frida Kahlo, Katherine Johnson and Chloe Kim. “Barbie is committed to shining a light on empoweringrole models past and present in an effort to inspire more girls,” the brand says.
