Professional Fashion Stylist in Los Angeles | Essential Macau Editorial

As a professional fashion stylist in Los Angeles, I love to travel for work. I had the luck of working with fashion photographer, Nuno Velsovo in Shanghai, China, and to style an editorial for the Essential Macau magazine.

Nuno Velsovo is a fashion photographer and creative director. Last 20 years Nuno Veloso dedicated to Fashion and Advertising Photography. A Master Degree in Communications and Media Studies lead him to be a visiting professor in Universities in Portugal and China. In 2010 in Nuno Veloso changed London for Hong Kong where collaborations with clients such as Hermes and Cartier took him to be the Lead Photographer and Art Director of Sands China Limited. Due to his personality and natural proactive attitude and leadership made him the Authority of Photography.

Being a professional fashion stylist, for this editorial I borrowed the looks from different showrooms. The art direction was given by our fashion photographer, Nuno. He wanted to capture Shanghai, China neon lights, and vibrant streets.

This editorial shoot was produced by Core Productions. Core Productions is a small Boutique Production House, with visual communication at its Core. As a Boutique Production House, Core Productions acts as a one-stop-shop solution for brands, agencies, or clients coming to the Asia Pacific region.

I had a great time working with Essential Macau and Nuno Velsovo as a professional fashion stylist in Los Angeles and hope to collaborate with them in the future. Here you can take a look at the editorial: https://issuu.com/essentialmacau/docs/esmacau34-issuu

Wardrobe Supervisor in Los Angeles | Fashion shoot with Victoria’s Secret Angel

Wardrobe Supervisor in Los Angeles | Fashion shoot with Victoria’s Secret Angel

As a wardrobe supervisor in Los Angeles, I had the luck working with Victoria’s Secret Angel, Barbara Fialho, who is a Brazilian model and singer.

Being a wardrobe supervisor I supervise all dressers and costumers working on a production. In consultation with the client, director, photographer, and the production manager, I help to coordinate and assign dressers to specific models and locations. In prior to our shoot with Victoria’s Secret supermodel Barbara Fialho I was present at production meetings and location scouting, my primary responsibilities were to prepare everything and to decide with our team in each location which dresses are getting shot.
Barbara is stunningly beautiful and gave the camera incredible charisma. Her ability to be aware of her body and how to move for the camera allowed the creative team to work seamlessly with her. The lead designer behind the new Ikaria ready to wear collection, Leah Hulon created beautiful designs for the brand that fit the location and mood perfectly. As a creative wardrobe supervisor, I loved working in conjunction with the photo and video team.

I had a great time working with Tiger House Films and Ikaria Resort Wear as a wardrobe supervisor in Los Angeles and hope to create a lasting business relationship with them for the future.

Key Make-Up Artist in Los Angeles | ANTARCTICA Short Film

Key Make-Up Artist in Los Angeles | ANTARCTICA Short Film

As a key make-up artist in Los Angeles, I’ve had the opportunity to work with Xi He, director of his Antarctica short film. I was the lead makeup artist and hair stylist on this project. We were shooting for 5 days in Los Angeles.

Our cinematographer was Laura Jansen. Laura was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in a small suburban town 25 miles south of the city. Much of her free time as an only-child was spent either in front of a television screen or in a movie theater. It was there that she fell in love with film’s ability to completely immerse her in the narrative and take her to a different place entirely.

I love my job as a makeup artist and I love working with a wide range of different looks and styles that my clients request. I get excited about working with directors such as Xi He and cinematographer Laura Jansen. I am always curious as to what I can contribute to these projects. Most of all, I delight in seeing my work used by clients in their social media posts, films, campaigns, and websites. In this short film for our actors, I created natural and camera-ready hair/makeup looks.

I had a great time collaborating with Xi He and his team as a key make-up artist in Los Angeles, I hope to create a long-lasting relationship with him for the future.

Hair Stylist in Los Angeles | Collaboration with Sultra Beauty

Hair Stylist in Los Angeles | Collaboration with Sultra Beauty

As a hair stylist in Los Angeles, I collaborated with Sultra Beauty, an innovative, fashion-forward hair tool brand utilizing healing technology to strengthen your hair while you style. Sultra is founded by veteran hairstylist Dana Story in 2008.

Created by a stylist, for stylists, Sultra’s infrared and ionic technology-infused tools promote the healing of the hair and scalp all while breaking down excess moisture and water molecules, both left on the hair and within the surrounding environment, to penetrate the hairs cortex to strengthen and hydrate the hair from within. Fostering the brand ethos that styling your hair should be predictable, reliable, and fun, Sultra is dedicated to creating high quality, high-performance tools that deliver superior results.

Working as a Los Angeles hair stylist is a very challenging job. Not all hair type suits a person/project plus that there is a constant need to go with the new trend and seeing what the project requires. Plus if you are a celebrity hair stylist your work will be watched over by everyone in the industry. Usually, I work on photoshoots, press, editorial, celebrities, and as well as I collaborate with established brands such as Jimmy Choo, Nike and Disney.

I always love to try new products, Sultra Beauty sent me 2 amazing irons, one of them is the After Hours Style, Wave and Straighten Iron and the other one is the After Hours 1.5-Inch Styling Wand which creates bombshell waves.

I had an excellent time collaborating with Sultra Beauty as a hair stylist, I hope to create a long-lasting relationship with him for the future.

Professional Makeup Artist in Los Angeles | Drunk Elephant Collaboration

Professional Makeup Artist in Los Angeles | Drunk Elephant Collaboration

As a professional makeup artist in Los Angeles, I collaborated with Drunk Elephant, clean-compatible skincare products made with efficacious levels of ingredients like L-Ascorbic Acid, Glycolic Acid, and Marula Oil.

The brand name Drunk Elephant is rooted in a myth that says the elephants love to eat the fruit that has fallen from Marula trees. Once eaten, fermentation occurs inside their very large tummies and the elephants become drunk! Virgin Marula oil, straight from the “pip”, can be found throughout the Drunk Elephant line. It is an oil that Masterson believes is superior to ANY she’s tried due to the high content of fatty acids and antioxidants.

Thankfully with many years of experience, I have my makeup kit fully equipped for every project. With the support of the Drunk Elephant, I can have my skincare products fully stocked. Their products are amazing, I love to use them on my shoots. Included in your kit should be the basics: brushes, disposables, sanitation, skincare, and tons of makeup that should be versatile and used for different skin types and tones. Your own kit is unique to you because you have the types of products and tools that you’re comfortable with.

In the entertainment industry, Film and TV might be one of the hardest makeup to create since you’re trying your hardest to make the subject look natural but using products that are HD friendly and full coverage.

I had a wonderful time collaborating with Drunk Elephant as a professional makeup artist, I hope to create a long-lasting relationship with him for the future.

Activewear Wardrobe Stylist in Los Angeles | Higher Line Photoshoot

Activewear Wardrobe Stylist in Los Angeles | Higher Line Photoshoot

As an activewear wardrobe stylist in Los Angeles, I had the luck working with Higher Line, a premium eco-friendly yoga mat company, their mats custom-designed for mindful practice. Made to support the gentlest yoga asana to the most athletic high-intensity bodyweight training.

Being an activewear wardrobe stylist in Los Angeles, I styled Anya Shendrik and Ashok Zaman, the founders of Higher Line, and selected for them multiple wardrobe looks. I advised them which activewear brands will fit them for this photoshoot and communicate with them on trends, clothing styles, colors, and make-up matching to their brand.

Activewear and athleisure are taking over the fashion industry and more and more of us are opting to wear comfortable, stylish women’s fitness clothing as everyday casual wear. When it comes to yoga tops for women, a loose flowing yoga top is the queen. Layered over a stylish sports bra or crop top and vest, a loose yoga top will create effortless style and a cool, casual look. Don’t forget about black leggings/shorts they should be a staple of every woman’s wardrobe.

About Higher Line: With many years of experience between them as practitioners of yoga, fitness, and meditation, Higher Line began as the search for the perfect yoga mat, one that could complement all their practices. A mat that’s durable, easy to clean, and a good choice both for the health of one’s personal practice space as well as the environment as a whole. Their years of experience with substandard mats proved that this is not so easy to find.

I had a great time working with Higher Line as an activewear wardrobe stylist and hope to create a lasting business relationship with them for the future.

Makeup Artists in Los Angeles | Disney Frozen 2 Pop-up Paper Art

Makeup Artists in Los Angeles | Disney Frozen 2 Pop-up Paper Art

Being one of the makeup artists in Los Angeles The Walt Disney Company hired me for their Frozen 2 Pop-up paper art promo video. I had 1 female artist to do camera-ready hair and makeup for. I love my job as a hairstylist and makeup artist and I enjoy working with a wide range of different looks and styles that my clients request.

A Little Disney History: From humble beginnings as a cartoon studio in the 1920s to its preeminent name in the entertainment industry today, Disney proudly continues its legacy of creating world-class stories and experiences for every member of the family.

About the movie: Frozen II, also known as Frozen 2, is a 2019 American 3D computer-animated musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Our artist prepared all the Disney Frozen 2 pop-up paper art pieces prior to the shoot. If three-dimensional objects are formed in front of the viewer’s eyes that previously fitted flat between two book covers one speaks of a pop-up.

Working as a hair/makeup combo on branded videos allows me the freedom of creating a full glam look for the artists, models, and actors. Onset in Los Angeles, we always run into unexpected situations so it is very important to be on top of your task. As a hair/makeup combo, I mostly work on branded videos, beauty/fashion commercials, television, film, and movies.

I had a great time working with Disney as makeup artists in Los Angeles, I hope to create a long-lasting relationship with them for the future.

Makeup Artist in Atlanta | Filming in Atlanta, Georgia

Makeup Artist in Atlanta | Filming in Atlanta, Georgia

As a makeup artist in Atlanta, there are many ways to learn how to become a makeup artist in Atlanta. Georgia’s film incentives provide thousands of jobs to aspiring actors, filmmakers, costume designers, and make-up artists. I travel a lot for work so I often fly to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Miami as well for different projects.

Getting into the industry is not easy. Originally I’m from Hungary, Budapest. One thing I always say is everyone’s journey is different. As for me, I started out by doing makeup for private events and friends in Shanghai, China. I lived/worked in China for 5 years which thought me to stand on my feet in every situation. The way I got into doing makeup for productions was actually by starting out as a wardrobe stylist. I got to know the production team, agencies, and clients and then eventually started assisting other makeup artists and the journey continued from there.

in 2017 I moved to the United States and my adventure continued here. I am very grateful for this decision every day because I found my place in the world where I can do what I love the most which are styling and makeup. I enjoy creating and the US is giving me creative freedom so I’m very thankful for that.

Being a makeup artist in Atlanta, working in different locations, projects also allows me to be flexible, research, purchase, and try different beauty lines, techniques. It is a very productive playground for a makeup artist and hairstylist like myself with such creative opportunities to work on various films, TV commercials, and fashion shoots.

Advertising Makeup Artist in Los Angeles | Portrait Shoot with Rémy Tortosa

Advertising Makeup Artist in Los Angeles | Portrait Shoot with Rémy Tortosa

Professional advertising makeup artist in Los Angeles. I’m a freelance makeup artist and hairstylist with more than 8 years in the industry. I’m a mobile makeup artist based in LA. Available for commercial, advertising, fashion, red carpet, event makeup, bridal/wedding makeup, and any and all media. I also provide wardrobe-fashion styling services for commercials and fashion shoots.

We shot these portrait pictures in Rémy‘s studio in West Hollywood. Rémy is a self-taught photographer who has always had a fascination for people. Born and raised in the suburb of Paris, he moved to Los Angeles in 2016. He is one of those photographers with a humanist approach and he privileges the soul and the personality.

In the Los Angeles entertainment industry, Film and TV might be one of the hardest makeup to create since you’re trying your hardest to make the subject look natural but using products that are HD friendly and full coverage. In the entertainment industry, lights and high-quality cameras are very powerful. With such harsh lighting on set, as an advertising makeup artist, I need to find and use products that will stay on, hide every pore, and always have their touch-up powder with them.

Thankfully with many years of experience, I have my makeup kit fully equipped for every project. Included in your kit should be the basics: brushes, disposables, sanitation, skincare, and tons of makeup that should be versatile and used for different skin types and tones. Your own kit is unique to you because you have the types of products and tools that you’re comfortable with.

Atlanta Makeup Artist | Travel Tips for Hair and Makeup Artists

Atlanta Makeup Artist | Travel Tips for Hair and Makeup Artists

As an Atlanta makeup artist, I love to travel for work. My job as a makeup artist isn’t a stationary one. I enjoy to go to a new space as my “office”, then pack up and have a different location the next day. Thankfully, I learned this early on in my career and always had my sights on traveling for my work.

Traveling, also means transporting your makeup, I always follow these tips:

1) Think Before You Pack – Brainstorming before you pack will save you a lot of time and ensure that you bring just what you need – say goodbye to over (or under) packing! Consider these three things when you’re deciding what to pack: who your agency/production company/client is, what kind of makeup they’re requesting, and what environment you’ll be working in.

2) Create an Inventory List Once you decide what you’re bringing with you, take an inventory.

3) Purchase Insurance if you can Insuring your kit is a great way to put your mind at ease and make sure you’re covered from any accident

4) Check-in or Carry on your makeup bag(s) For many hair and makeup artists, checking their bag is not an option so you will need to separate your kit what you can carry on and needs to be checked in with the airline.

Being an Atlanta makeup artist, working in exotic places also allows me to research, purchase, and try different beauty lines. It is a creative playground for an artist like myself to be up close and personal with such textures and colors of different landscapes, people, and places.
