Hair Stylist in Los Angeles | Collaboration with Sultra Beauty

Hair Stylist in Los Angeles | Collaboration with Sultra Beauty

As a hair stylist in Los Angeles, I collaborated with Sultra Beauty, an innovative, fashion-forward hair tool brand utilizing healing technology to strengthen your hair while you style. Sultra is founded by veteran hairstylist Dana Story in 2008.

Created by a stylist, for stylists, Sultra’s infrared and ionic technology-infused tools promote the healing of the hair and scalp all while breaking down excess moisture and water molecules, both left on the hair and within the surrounding environment, to penetrate the hairs cortex to strengthen and hydrate the hair from within. Fostering the brand ethos that styling your hair should be predictable, reliable, and fun, Sultra is dedicated to creating high quality, high-performance tools that deliver superior results.

Working as a Los Angeles hair stylist is a very challenging job. Not all hair type suits a person/project plus that there is a constant need to go with the new trend and seeing what the project requires. Plus if you are a celebrity hair stylist your work will be watched over by everyone in the industry. Usually, I work on photoshoots, press, editorial, celebrities, and as well as I collaborate with established brands such as Jimmy Choo, Nike and Disney.

I always love to try new products, Sultra Beauty sent me 2 amazing irons, one of them is the After Hours Style, Wave and Straighten Iron and the other one is the After Hours 1.5-Inch Styling Wand which creates bombshell waves.

I had an excellent time collaborating with Sultra Beauty as a hair stylist, I hope to create a long-lasting relationship with him for the future.

Professional Makeup Artist in Los Angeles | Drunk Elephant Collaboration

Professional Makeup Artist in Los Angeles | Drunk Elephant Collaboration

As a professional makeup artist in Los Angeles, I collaborated with Drunk Elephant, clean-compatible skincare products made with efficacious levels of ingredients like L-Ascorbic Acid, Glycolic Acid, and Marula Oil.

The brand name Drunk Elephant is rooted in a myth that says the elephants love to eat the fruit that has fallen from Marula trees. Once eaten, fermentation occurs inside their very large tummies and the elephants become drunk! Virgin Marula oil, straight from the “pip”, can be found throughout the Drunk Elephant line. It is an oil that Masterson believes is superior to ANY she’s tried due to the high content of fatty acids and antioxidants.

Thankfully with many years of experience, I have my makeup kit fully equipped for every project. With the support of the Drunk Elephant, I can have my skincare products fully stocked. Their products are amazing, I love to use them on my shoots. Included in your kit should be the basics: brushes, disposables, sanitation, skincare, and tons of makeup that should be versatile and used for different skin types and tones. Your own kit is unique to you because you have the types of products and tools that you’re comfortable with.

In the entertainment industry, Film and TV might be one of the hardest makeup to create since you’re trying your hardest to make the subject look natural but using products that are HD friendly and full coverage.

I had a wonderful time collaborating with Drunk Elephant as a professional makeup artist, I hope to create a long-lasting relationship with him for the future.

Makeup Artist in Atlanta | Filming in Atlanta, Georgia

Makeup Artist in Atlanta | Filming in Atlanta, Georgia

As a makeup artist in Atlanta, there are many ways to learn how to become a makeup artist in Atlanta. Georgia’s film incentives provide thousands of jobs to aspiring actors, filmmakers, costume designers, and make-up artists. I travel a lot for work so I often fly to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Miami as well for different projects.

Getting into the industry is not easy. Originally I’m from Hungary, Budapest. One thing I always say is everyone’s journey is different. As for me, I started out by doing makeup for private events and friends in Shanghai, China. I lived/worked in China for 5 years which thought me to stand on my feet in every situation. The way I got into doing makeup for productions was actually by starting out as a wardrobe stylist. I got to know the production team, agencies, and clients and then eventually started assisting other makeup artists and the journey continued from there.

in 2017 I moved to the United States and my adventure continued here. I am very grateful for this decision every day because I found my place in the world where I can do what I love the most which are styling and makeup. I enjoy creating and the US is giving me creative freedom so I’m very thankful for that.

Being a makeup artist in Atlanta, working in different locations, projects also allows me to be flexible, research, purchase, and try different beauty lines, techniques. It is a very productive playground for a makeup artist and hairstylist like myself with such creative opportunities to work on various films, TV commercials, and fashion shoots.

Atlanta Makeup Artist | Travel Tips for Hair and Makeup Artists

Atlanta Makeup Artist | Travel Tips for Hair and Makeup Artists

As an Atlanta makeup artist, I love to travel for work. My job as a makeup artist isn’t a stationary one. I enjoy to go to a new space as my “office”, then pack up and have a different location the next day. Thankfully, I learned this early on in my career and always had my sights on traveling for my work.

Traveling, also means transporting your makeup, I always follow these tips:

1) Think Before You Pack – Brainstorming before you pack will save you a lot of time and ensure that you bring just what you need – say goodbye to over (or under) packing! Consider these three things when you’re deciding what to pack: who your agency/production company/client is, what kind of makeup they’re requesting, and what environment you’ll be working in.

2) Create an Inventory List Once you decide what you’re bringing with you, take an inventory.

3) Purchase Insurance if you can Insuring your kit is a great way to put your mind at ease and make sure you’re covered from any accident

4) Check-in or Carry on your makeup bag(s) For many hair and makeup artists, checking their bag is not an option so you will need to separate your kit what you can carry on and needs to be checked in with the airline.

Being an Atlanta makeup artist, working in exotic places also allows me to research, purchase, and try different beauty lines. It is a creative playground for an artist like myself to be up close and personal with such textures and colors of different landscapes, people, and places.

Los Angeles Beauty Influencer | TYME Iron Pro Collaboration

Los Angeles Beauty Influencer | TYME Iron Pro Collaboration

As a Los Angeles beauty influencer I often collaborate with different brands. TYME sent to me a package including their Iron Pro, Upstaged Thermal Protectant and their Tymeless Protect & Shine. As a beauty influencer in Los Angeles, I mostly work on TV commercials, branded videos, and campaigns so I always need to have my kit professionally put together for my clients. TYME products really help me to stay professional and ready for any situation.

I love my TYME iron, you can create any hairstyle you like with it!  You should expect your TYME Iron curls to last for days. Below are a couple of tips to help get more life out of your style:

  • Make sure you are curling at a slow speed, with loose tension. If you gliding too quickly down the hair strand your hair won’t properly heat, which can cause your curls to fall.
  • Evaluate your foundational products.
  • Check your temperature setting. If your hair is thick or naturally curly you may need to go up a heat setting to set in your curls.

TYME designs products that give every individual the confidence to recognize their own unique beauty. They are a small company, and a family, who are committed to making life easier with superior products, next level customer service and education.

Being a Los Angeles influencer means having a social media base with a significant and engaged following. Because of my professional background in Hollywood,  endorsing specific makeup and beauty brands through shareable, digital content allows brands to get their products to the right people.

I really enjoyed collaborating with the TYME. I get excited about working with new beauty products and about what I can achieve with their products from project to project.

Instagram Makeup Artist and Stylist | Shanghai The Neon City

Instagram Makeup Artist and Stylist | Shanghai The Neon City

As an Instagram makeup artist, it is always challenging for me to create different looks that catch the eye of the internet audience. This project was one of the special ones that got viral attention. We called it the Shanghai Neon. With makeup and styling alone, you can do so much to get the look and feel you are going for. In Shanghai, the locations were already incredible and we just had to bring our imagination. As an Instagram makeup artist and stylist, I love to bring in projects with futuristic elements.

I created the Instagram makeup and hairstyle looks for this project with a really futuristic vibe inspired by Blade Runner. From the clunky, utilitarian vehicles on the streets to the hulking mega towers that dominate the skyline, Shanghai is a city that’s both a vision of the future and grounded in the modern-day. I used blue color neon eye shadows and matched with purple underline eye shadow and pink lipstick. We painted the model’s nails a neon color as well to get the full look.

For wardrobe styling, we were going for an ultra-modern look so we used MONCLER down-filled jackets. The women’s Moncler jackets are athletic and have a street-inspired design. Modish urban shapes are fashioned from high-tech materials and down padding for an aesthetic that is as eye-catching on the streets and in the final pictures. I am very excited to have achieved our final vision for this project.
