Film Makeup Artist in Los Angeles | “The Influencers” Santa Monica Webfest

As a film makeup artist in Los Angeles, I’ve had the opportunity to work with Katie Burris, director of “The Influencers”, a Comedy Pilot. I was the key makeup artist and hairstylist on this project. We were shooting for 2 days in Los Angeles.

“The Influencers” have been accepted to the Santa Monica Webfest in Los Angeles, California, and are nominated in 3 categories — including Best Ensemble Cast, Best Low Budget Series, and Best Comedy Series. In its inaugural year, Santa Monica Webfest will be showcasing the very best in short-form digital content from around the world. The festival will be taking place in June of 2020 in one of the most picturesque beach communities on the planet.

Being an L.A. film makeup artist, I am responsible for applying makeup to actors and actresses during filming. Makeup artists play an important role in helping the writers and directors tell a story by working closely with the director and production team to bring a story to life. Cameras can accentuate wrinkles, affect skin tone, and magnify skin flaws like scars and acne so I need to make sure my models, actors are camera-ready throughout the day. I touch them up between takes and correcting the distortions caused by the camera lens and lights.

I had a great time collaborating with “The Influencers” team as a film makeup artist in Los Angeles, I hope to create a long-lasting relationship with them for the future.

Los Angeles Professional Makeup Artist | Partnership with Dark Swan of Denmark

As a Los Angeles professional makeup artist, I collaborated with Dark Swan Of Denmark, a luxurious and handmade eyelashes company from Denmark. Founded back in 2013, Dark Swan of Denmark was one of Europe’s first brands to create handmade lashes using soft mink fur, silk, and synthetic fibers.

Their first signature collection is the extravagant Luxury Mink Collection, handcrafted with the finest quality of natural mink fur. With their subtle 3D effect, these lashes add volume and length in the most natural way possible. A carefully-curated lash-band follows the delicate curve of your eye, making these lashes easy to apply, comfortable to wear, and fixed in place for all-day effect.

Dark Swan Of Denmark made these feathery, fluttering lashes in all sorts of different shapes, styles, and designs, from natural-looking daytime lashes to dramatic evening wear – but most importantly, they made them comfortable and easy to apply.

I’ve received their most extravagant collection of eyelashes, including their Luxury Mink, Soft Silk collection of lashes as well as their feather individuals. As a makeup artist, I love to build up my own fake eyelashes so I can control the volume of each falsies. The package came beautifully wrapped in the brand’s original Dark Swan Of Denmark bag.

As a Beverly Hills makeup artist, I collaborated with KAPLAN MD, a Paraben and Cruelty-Free, Luxury Skincare brand made in California by Beverly Hills Dermatologist, Stuart Kaplan, M.D.

Dr. Kaplan believes that true luxury is taking the best solution, and making it simple. It is this philosophy that guides the meticulous creation of every KAPLAN MD product and ensures that each product delivers multiple patented ingredients effortlessly.

Working as a Los Angeles makeup artist, my clientele includes mostly celebrity makeup, advertising, commercial and fashion projects. As well as, red carpet events, editorial and beauty photoshoots.

In order to become a makeup artist in Los Angeles, I needed to perfect my skills and put myself out there. Working in L.A. gave me the right experience to travel anywhere in the world.

As a Los Angeles makeup artist, I collaborated with Antonym Cosmetics, an organic makeup range that is made with certified natural and organic ingredients. The brand range is free of chemicals such as parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, petrochemicals, and phthalates.

Antonym Cosmetics was founded by Miami makeup artist Valerie Giraud who sought to create the best organic makeup and makeup brushes that were cruelty-free and gentle on the skin. According to Val, natural makeup doesn’t have to mean a natural look. This is why Antonym Cosmetics is certified natural and organic and highly pigmented.

Natural or “clean” beauty has blown up in recent years. As a Los Angeles beauty makeup artist, I care more about non-toxic ingredients and I’m making a conscious effort to pay close attention to harmful chemicals commonly found in makeup products, like parabens. On set it is very important to me to use the highest quality products on my clients because wearing makeup every day can dry out your skin quickly if you are not moisturizing / taking care of your skin properly.

Los Angeles Beauty Makeup Artist | Face Genius Commercial

Being a Los Angeles beauty makeup artist, I mostly work on fashion shoots, commercials, and branded videos. I got a chance a couple of months ago to work with Anarchy production company for a Face Genius commercial spot. Anarchy production was contacted by Face Genius to produce several social media videos.

I styled and did hair and make on 3 talents during this commercial production. The wardrobe direction given from the client and director was casual so I brought many options from H&M and Uniqlo stores. For hair and makeup styles, we decided to go with camera-ready, natural looks.

Los Angeles Celebrity Makeup Artist | NEWLOOK London E-Commerce

As a Los Angeles celebrity makeup artist, I mostly work with fashion models, celebrities and social media influencers. Not only for fashion but for makeup, you always need to keep up with the changing trends. On Instagram, there is a huge crowd of followers who love to see collaborations between brands and celebrities. On this NEWLOOK London E-Commerce campaign we worked with fashion influencers from Shanghai, China during a one day photo shoot.

Having worked in the industry as a Los Angeles celebrity makeup artist, clients often require clean, beauty looks to be camera ready. I love how this particular shoot turned out because it is was successful collaboration between influencers and the fashion brand. This project highlights my work as a makeup artist and hair stylist by exposing my style to a large social media audience through influencer posts and tags. For this particular set of talent, I created a clean-cut red lip paired with minimal makeup, keeping the hair loose and embracing natural texture with a little salt spray.
