Los Angeles Wardrobe Stylist | Deloitte Digital Marketing Campaign

Los Angeles Wardrobe Stylist | Deloitte Digital Marketing Campaign

As a Los Angeles wardrobe stylist, I’ve had the opportunity to work with Deloitte Digital on their 8×8 Communications promotional materials. I was the lead makeup artist and wardrobe stylist on this shoot. This campaign was shot in the Deloitte office in Los Angeles, California.

We shot this commercial spot for 3 days and I styled 5 talents each day through multiple wardrobe changes during this production. The wardrobe direction given from the director and client was business casual/corporate and lifestyle so I brought many options from Topshop and ZARA stores.

A couple of styling tips and tricks:

  1. Have your models wear trends in an appropriate way
  2. Mix prints and patterns carefully because of the camera can read prints differently
  3. Don’t be too matchy-matchy
  4. Show skin selectively
  5. Bring staple pieces
  6. Develop a signature style for each model
  7. Have a classic white shirt ready

Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited, commonly referred to as Deloitte, is a multinational professional services network. Deloitte is one of the “Big Four” accounting organizations and the largest professional services network in the world by revenue and number of professionals with headquarters in London, United Kingdom.

For this corporate photoshoot, I need to make we have tailored suit jackets, bottoms, shoes, blouses, and ties available for our talents. For blouses underneath the jacket, think shiny. The silky fabric looks great on the camera. I brought simple earrings, bracelets, and necklaces with me as well.

I had a wonderful time working with Deloitte’s team as a Los Angeles wardrobe stylist, I hope to create a long-lasting relationship with them for the future.

Television Wardrobe Stylist | Cathay Bank Commercial

Television Wardrobe Stylist| Cathay Bank Commercial

As a television wardrobe stylist, I got a chance a couple of months ago to work with Tiger House Films production company for a Cathay Bank commercial spot. Tiger House Films was contacted by Plan C Agency located in Downtown Los Angeles to produce several social media videos for Cathay Bank.

I styled about 10 talents through multiple wardrobe changes during this commercial production. The wardrobe direction given from the client and director was business and business casual so I brought many options from ZARA and H&M stores.

The target audience for this project was the Chinese American demographic here in the United States. By getting social media video content marketed to this particular group about the benefits of banking with Cathay, the wide reach of internet marketing has allowed for Cathay Bank to see immediate results and benefits regarding exposure of their brand.

Because Cathay Bank first opened in 1962 in Los Angeles’ Chinatown as the first Chinese-American bank in Southern California, our goal was to teach the history of this brand to new customers, bringing in the next generation of Chinese-American consumers. In 1979 Cathay Bank opened its first branch office in Monterey Park. Its first overseas representative office in Hong Kong was opened in 1985.

I had a great time working with Cathay Bank and Tiger House Films team as a television wardrobe stylist and hope to create a lasting business relationship with them for the future. As a stylist, I mostly work on TV commercials, branded videos, and fashion shoots.

TV Commercial Stylist | New York Life Insurance Commercial

TV Commercial Stylist | New York Life Insurance Commercial

I was hired as a TV commercial stylist multiple times by Tiger House Films production company for a New York Life Insurance Commercial. This TV commercial production had a very fast turnaround and we are happy to say that our workflow with Plan C Agency executed the projects of very high quality. I had to make sure all the talent had their wardrobe options so I was able to deliver the best to our client on the shoot days. As a wardrobe stylist based in Los Angeles, I was able to communicate with all the talent their wardrobe options very well.

We shot this commercial for 2 days, one day in an ice skating rink and in the client’s Los Angeles office. The second day was a beautiful house located in Beverly Hills. Not only did wardrobe styling on this job but I was also the hair and makeup artist. The commercial turned out great, it is very dynamic. Our schedule for this creative commercial was a bit difficult as we had to do an overnight due to the Pasadena Ice Skating Center’s schedule. Tiger House Films crew made the difficult situation into a very smooth and precise shoot that went off without any problem.

The plot of this branded media revolves around an affluent Asian American family who wants the best for their daughter. She tries activities such as piano and violin (very popular culturally relevant activities in Asian American communities across the country) but can’t quite find her niche. She finally tries something more athletic, ice skating, and realizes her passion for the sport.

Plan C is a multicultural marketing and communications agency with offices in Los Angeles and New York. Their mission is to guide brands on their path to growth through strategic planning, advertising, traditional & digital media, events, and PR.

I had a great time working with New York Life Insurance and Tiger House Films team as a TV commercial stylist and hope to create a lasting business relationship with them for the future. As a stylist, I mostly work on TV commercials, branded videos, and campaigns with THF production team.

Los Angeles Wardrobe Stylist | Ember Commercial

Los Angeles Wardrobe Stylist | Ember Commercial

Ember, a design-led temperature control brand hired me as a Los Angeles wardrobe stylist for their commercial spot in July 2019. I love to work with creatives who have great taste in their work and advertising materials. We shot this video campaign during 1 day in Los Angeles, CA.

I styled 2 talents through multiple wardrobe changes during this photo campaign production. The wardrobe direction given from the client and director was casual and lifestyle so I brought many options from ZARA and H&M stores. In advertising I usually shop new clothes from a variety of brands. I shop A lot, especially if I work on a video campaign with multiple models. I usually shop three to four times the amount I actually need.

About Ember: The Ember Ceramic Mug is beautifully designed to be used in your home or at your desk, and keeps your beverages at the perfect temperature from the first sip to the last drop.
Ember was created to solve a simple, yet universal problem for coffee and tea drinkers. Using their patented temperature control technology, Ember invented a way to extend the moment of perfection with your favorite hot beverage.

We shot this commercial spot at Ember’s office and at a home location. Designed for home or office, the new Ember Mug does more than simply keep your coffee hot. Their smart mug allows you to set an exact drinking temperature, so your coffee is never too hot, or too cold.

I had a great time working with Ember’s Team as a Los Angeles wardrobe stylist and hope to create a lasting business relationship with them for the future.

Hair and Makeup Artist | Pelle Moda Campaign

Hair and Makeup Artist | Pelle Moda Campaign

As a Los Angeles hair and makeup artist, I got hired by fashion brand Pelle Moda, they were looking for a hair & makeup artist for their L.A. fashion shoot. It was my second time working with Pelle Moda’s team.

About Pelle Moda: Pelle Moda footwear is designed in the mecca for trending new fashions and strives to answer the needs of the contemporary and stylish woman. Pelle Moda shoes are the perfect choice for day or night, depending on the look you’re going for. Flourishing for over a decade, their styles are found in specialty boutiques and exclusive retailers around the globe. Crafted to adorn the foot in the most flattering ways, our shoes make an entrance and leave a lasting impression.

Our beautiful model was Kristen Jadlow, she is a freelance model and worked with us for 1 day in Downtown Los Angeles in a photo studio. Our first look was wavy hair. If the word “effortless” was to manifest itself as a hairstyle, it would be wavy hair. The texture—a happy medium between voluminous curls and straight hair. For this hair, I wanted to bring out Kristen’s eyes so I added a liner and created cat-eye makeup. For the second look, I put her hair up in a ponytail and changed her lip color.

Our photographer for this campaign, Stephanie, is a wedding, couple’s and fashion photographer based out of Los Angeles, CA. She has been a professional photographer for 2 years now. Wedding and couple’s photography are her bread and butter. There is nothing she loves more than finding an amazing outdoor location to frolic and capture the unique love of a couple, or spend the most important day of their life with them and all their loved ones.

Los Angeles Celebrity Makeup Artist | Boob Tape Lifestyle Shoot

Los Angeles Celebrity Makeup Artist | Boob Tape Lifestyle Shoot

As a Los Angeles celebrity makeup artist, I got hired by lifestyle brand Boob Tape. This company was looking for a hair & makeup artist for their Los Angeles fashion shoot. The tapes are made for everyone so during our shoot we wanted to capture the models in real life. My hair and makeup had to match to specific real-life looks accordingly, I created natural smokey and cat-eye looks.

It is waterproof, sweatproof, hypoallergenic, supportive bra available in A-E cup sizes. Perfect for wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, and bathing suits.

As a Los Angeles makeup artist, I worked with 5 models/influencers. The brand wanted to keep their hair & makeup looks very natural since their customer’s main focus should be on their products. We shot for 1 day around Venice Beach, CA and had a beautiful house location and several other coffee, ice cream shops to shoot in. We captured both photo and video content on this day.
Our photographer was Dalure, he is based in Los Angeles. Dalure’s creative interest first began when he turned his memories into tangible moments. Dalure and his wife frequently work together on different advertising and editorial jobs. His unique take on lifestyle, fashion, and portraiture derive from his years of experience in the fashion industry.
We had a very busy day because each model had multiple wardrobe changes as well as multipe hair/makeup looks. The company produced these images and videos for their social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and for their website.
As a Los Angeles celebrity makeup artist, I work with a lot of influencers. These influencers are advertising brand products on their social media platforms and can engage a lot of customers.

Los Angeles Makeup Artist | The Walt Disney Branded Video

Los Angeles Makeup Artist | The Walt Disney Branded Video

As a Los Angeles makeup artist, The Walt Disney Company hired me for their Disney Art 4 Ways: Maleficent branded video shoot in their studio. We shot this branded video for 2 days.

I was hired to do camera-ready makeup for 4 people. Camera-ready makeup isn’t about heavy coverage or overly bright colors. It’s about understanding how and what the camera is going to see.

Things you must need to create a camera-ready makeup and as a Los Angeles makeup artist I use all the time:

  • Contour: When taking a photo/video the camera makes you look flat with no dimension, so contour your face to create shadows, making you three-dimensial to the camera
  • Avoid Shimmer: A little shimmery highlight on the cheekbone is OK, but try and avoid shimmery eyeshadows as flash photography reflects light back, causing the skin to look washed out. Matte colors work perfectly if you are going to be in front of the camera.
  • Pack on the Translucent Powder: Before adding blush or bronzer, pack on the translucent powder and use shine-free foundation. For the same reason you want to avoid shimmery eyeshadows, you want to use translucent powder to tone down the natural shine of your skin. Toning down the shine is why celebrities are constantly being touched up when on camera.
  • Use Primer: Prime you face and eyes before applying makeup
  • Apply Mascara: Mascara will really make your eyes stand out, and your overall look will be perfection.

The Walt Disney Company, commonly known as Disney, is an American diversified multinational mass media and entertainment conglomerate headquartered at the Walt Disney Studios complex in Burbank, California. I had a great time working with The Walt Disney Company team as a Los Angeles makeup artist and hope to create a lasting business relationship with them for the future.

Beauty Makeup Artist | Fashion shoot with Taylor Piper

Beauty Makeup Artist | Fashion shoot with Taylor Piper

As a beauty makeup artist, I collaborated with Matt Pluz, a Miami based fashion photographer to work on a fashion shoot with him and model, Taylor Piper. We shot these images for 1 day at Matt’s Miami studio. We came up with the concept together and organized the shoot in about 2 weeks.

Matt Pluz is an internationally published fashion photographer based in Miami Beach, whose work has been showcased in hundreds of publications such as ELLE Spain, Sports Illustrated, Maxim, The New York Post, Hollywood Reporter, Billboard Magazine, Ocean Drive, GQ, Esquire and many more. Matt was recently named one of Peerspace.com’s Top 10 Miami Photographers.

Our model, Taylor is currently signed with Margaux The Agency in Los Angeles and with Wilhelmina in Miami. Wilhelmina International Inc., formerly Wilhelmina Models, is a full-service modeling and talent agency headquartered in New York City, United States. The company also has offices in Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, and London.

Beauty photography can be one of the most challenging photography styles to get right. Whether you’re creating editorial content for magazines or capturing a particular makeup product for an advertisement, beauty photography requires very close collaboration among the photographer, model, makeup artist and stylist. I loved working with Matt and Taylor, it was a very successful collaboration and the images are outstanding! As a beauty makeup artist, I had to keep eye on the details because every small slip will look huge on the final images. Matt retouched the images and took care of the color grading as well.

Commercial advertising stylist | VoyageLA Interview

Commercial advertising stylist | VoyageLA Interview

As a commercial advertising stylist I got a chance a couple of weeks ago to give an interview to an online magazine called VoyageLA. The interview can be found as part of the Inspiring Stories series here:

http://voyagela.com/interview/meet-luca-buzas-lucabuzas-hollywood/?fbclid=IwAR0MIU9_keVXLCmTJwqo8j-LvPie0Ujxxcl7C-0tTwScBQ-JKBEbD_XSsdQ

Let me tell you a little bit about the interview. VoyageLA asked me a couple of questions via email such as how I started my career, what kind of issues I was facing along the way and about my current/future projects. They gave me about 2 weeks to get back to them which was plenty of time to put together my answers. At the end of my interview they asked me to recommend 5 people who also work in the film / advertising industry because they would like to expend their community to their readers.

I love collaborating with magazines that create interesting stories and connect people together. VoyageLA introduces creatives in different areas of LA, for example they have people in Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica etc. so you can search and read about industry professionals in your area.

About VoyageLA: The Voyage Group of Magazines started in Los Angeles with their flagship publication VoyageLA.  After generating their first million page views in LA they knew their content was resonating with the community. They’ve since grown to a handful of other amazing cities with the help of an incredible network of friends, associates, local insiders and influencers, PR firms, local bloggers, artists, creatives, entrepreneurs and other professionals.

It was a pleasure collaborating with VoyageLA on this interview as a commercial advertising stylist and hope to create a lasting relationship with them for the future.
