Commercial advertising stylist | VoyageLA Interview

Commercial advertising stylist | VoyageLA Interview

As a commercial advertising stylist I got a chance a couple of weeks ago to give an interview to an online magazine called VoyageLA. The interview can be found as part of the Inspiring Stories series here:

http://voyagela.com/interview/meet-luca-buzas-lucabuzas-hollywood/?fbclid=IwAR0MIU9_keVXLCmTJwqo8j-LvPie0Ujxxcl7C-0tTwScBQ-JKBEbD_XSsdQ

Let me tell you a little bit about the interview. VoyageLA asked me a couple of questions via email such as how I started my career, what kind of issues I was facing along the way and about my current/future projects. They gave me about 2 weeks to get back to them which was plenty of time to put together my answers. At the end of my interview they asked me to recommend 5 people who also work in the film / advertising industry because they would like to expend their community to their readers.

I love collaborating with magazines that create interesting stories and connect people together. VoyageLA introduces creatives in different areas of LA, for example they have people in Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica etc. so you can search and read about industry professionals in your area.

About VoyageLA: The Voyage Group of Magazines started in Los Angeles with their flagship publication VoyageLA.  After generating their first million page views in LA they knew their content was resonating with the community. They’ve since grown to a handful of other amazing cities with the help of an incredible network of friends, associates, local insiders and influencers, PR firms, local bloggers, artists, creatives, entrepreneurs and other professionals.

It was a pleasure collaborating with VoyageLA on this interview as a commercial advertising stylist and hope to create a lasting relationship with them for the future.

Los Angeles Beauty Influencer | TYME Iron Pro Collaboration

Los Angeles Beauty Influencer | TYME Iron Pro Collaboration

As a Los Angeles beauty influencer I often collaborate with different brands. TYME sent to me a package including their Iron Pro, Upstaged Thermal Protectant and their Tymeless Protect & Shine. As a beauty influencer in Los Angeles, I mostly work on TV commercials, branded videos, and campaigns so I always need to have my kit professionally put together for my clients. TYME products really help me to stay professional and ready for any situation.

I love my TYME iron, you can create any hairstyle you like with it!  You should expect your TYME Iron curls to last for days. Below are a couple of tips to help get more life out of your style:

  • Make sure you are curling at a slow speed, with loose tension. If you gliding too quickly down the hair strand your hair won’t properly heat, which can cause your curls to fall.
  • Evaluate your foundational products.
  • Check your temperature setting. If your hair is thick or naturally curly you may need to go up a heat setting to set in your curls.

TYME designs products that give every individual the confidence to recognize their own unique beauty. They are a small company, and a family, who are committed to making life easier with superior products, next level customer service and education.

Being a Los Angeles influencer means having a social media base with a significant and engaged following. Because of my professional background in Hollywood,  endorsing specific makeup and beauty brands through shareable, digital content allows brands to get their products to the right people.

I really enjoyed collaborating with the TYME. I get excited about working with new beauty products and about what I can achieve with their products from project to project.

L.A. Creative Coordinator | “The Society” Branded Videos

L.A. Creative Coordinator | “The Society” Branded Videos

As an L.A. creative coordinator, I coordinated the art department and managed the communication between the NETFLIX team and our THF team. I was helping the production team, Tiger House Films, in the hiring process so I reached out to a lot of people who we thought were a good fit for this client. Styling the sets and my ability to shape the look of the project through my creative coordination and bringing on the creative team was the basis for Tiger House Films hiring me to be a part of the project.

Tiger House Films boutique commercial production company has partnered with Netflix to create branded videos for The Society’s Instagram and other social media platforms.

The Society is an American mystery teen drama web television series created by Christopher Keyser, that premiered on Netflix on May 10, 2019. The Society is perfect for those who love a teen drama with an edgy twist. It deals with a bunch of kids who are forced to become the leaders of their town after their parents mysteriously vanish.

Netflix, Inc. is an American media-services provider headquartered in Los Gatos, California, founded in 1997 by Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph in Scotts Valley, California. Netflix is the world’s leading internet entertainment service with over 148 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, documentaries and feature films across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can watch as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, on any internet-connected screen. Members can play, pause and resume watching, all without commercials or commitments.

From the beginning Birdies team was seeking a boutique production company in Los Angeles for their production. Tiger House Films flexibility and creative input was the perfect match for their needs. As a Los Angeles creative coordinator I had a great time working with this team and hope to collaborate again soon.

Freelance Fashion Stylist | Dear Velvet Editorial Shoot

Freelance Fashion Stylist | Dear Velvet Editorial Shoot

As a freelance fashion stylist, I love to travel for work. I had the luck of flying to the Philippines to style an editorial for Dear Velvet blog. My concept was to use only scarves as outfits. As DV said “One scarf really can do it all. Every travel article I’ve ever read advises taking a scarf to wear as a bandana, blanket, hankie and so on: it’s a camping staple. Packing just one thing seems like a revolutionary idea. Truly, just one scarf can double for almost every item in your wardrobe.”

A classic silk scarf is an investment piece in your wardrobe, that never goes out of style. Wearing a silk scarf with your outfit is a genius way to add instant, effortless chic to any look. But as with many accessories, it’s all in the styling.

Think saris and sarongs, bandanas and bralettes; experiment with twisting and make yourself a halter. Sleeveless or side layered, this is an easy way to dip into the bare shoulder trend. Headscarves, skirts and even bikinis are all there for a little artful tucking and tying. With Summer imminent and the endless hunt for holiday clothes occupying too much of our leisure browsing.

I had a great time working with Dear Velvet team as a freelance fashion stylist and hope to collaborate with him in the future. Here you can take a look on the editoral: https://dearvelvet.com/category/style/page/3/

Working as an image consultant in Los Angeles is a very exciting job. As an image consultant, you are a specialist who improves the personal or professional image of a client. You evaluate, enhance and upgrade your client’s look, behavior and communication skills to ensure that their image is consistent with their personal or professional goals. When I lived in China I collaborated with Just Cavalli‘s PR team and they flew me to Chengdu to host a private event to their clients.

Image Consultant Responsibilities:

  • Schedule comprehensive initial meetings with clients to ascertain their personal and professional goals.
  • Assess, improve and transform the client’s image, behavior and communication skills that will distinguish them from the crowd.
  • Engage with corporate clients through professional brand coaching and projects.
  • Counsel and coach clients with purposeful advice that contributes to a positive transformation of their personal or professional image.
  • Methodically transfer image information through an environment that facilitates the most efficient and effective learning.
  • Aspire to create images that are authentic, suitable, appealing and sustainable.

The event’s theme: For the Just Cavalli Autumn/Winter 2014-15 pre-collection, Roberto Cavalli was inspired by a fascinating journey to the East, from the mysterious Persian lands to the incredible Turkish landscapes. Kilim rugs, medal embellishments, fringes, and woven accents have become the distinctive elements for both day-wear and evening-wear pieces.

Classic shapes, geometric details, and intense colors are mixed with arabesque motifs and animal-prints, to create a glamorous and contemporary look. The Just Cavalli Women’s pre-collection presents a feminine soul but with a rock’n’roll and an androgynous edge thanks to a series of iconic items such as the classic biker leather jacket, the Montgomery coat and the striped tops infused with Oriental-inspired elements.
